my room had no window and was not able to change room
light was so weak inside the room I could hardly concentrate on my laptop. I asked a extra light but hotel was not able to provide it..
Stairs were filled with linnen, garbage, boxes, etc..
which makes me feel anxious about safety, incase of fire, for example.
breakfast was very poor
however staff is nice and friendly, but not the experience of high-grade service hotels..
The streeat nearby th station (4mn walk) are nice with many bards/restaurants.
that is th only good points..

| "The location and services so far ok but the only inconvenience is their multiple staircase at the hotel entrance....we have to carry our own luggage up, they don't provide any porter to help you nor elevator, this is our main headaches .
Another factor is the auto energy saving light in their bathroom ,it always auto shut off when i am in the middle of having my shower .I really hope that they can improve on this.
Overall, it is still satisfying during my 6 days stay with this hotel.I will visit this hotel again during my next trip. " |

| "After reading a detailed review of Hotel Vision early 2007, my friends & I stayed away from it & chose Best Western (BW) Dongdaemun instead for our 2007 visit < you can read my review for BW Dongdaemun under asiarooms.com >. It's true there are many steps to climb daily from Wangsimni metro station whereas you can simply roll down to two metro stations from BW Dongdaemun. From Incheon Airport, go to level 1, look for bus stop 10A at Exit 10 & take airport limousine to the 4th station from the airport, viz., Incheon Airport, Gimpo Airport, Eungbong Samgeori, Muhak Girls' High Sch & then alight at Seongdong-gu Office. Just cross the road & you will see Hotel Vision. The fare remains unchanged at 13,000Won. Those who wish to take the AREX from Incheon Airport that links to Gimpo Airport where you will connect to Line 5 which will take you to Wangsimni Station, pls exit at Exit 2. The fare is cheaper than taking the airport limousine but I'll not recommend because of the no. of steps you have to climb. I used both ways as I had to send my friend off to the Incheon Airport earlier & tried the AREX then to Line 5 route back to Hotel Vision.
When leaving Seoul, the airport limousine bus stop is on the same side as the hotel, very convenient! This is one BIG plus point cos luggage is usually heavier when we leave Seoul.
Having stayed in both BW Vision Hotel & BW Dongdaemun these 2 years, I can make a comparison between the two hotels. Hotel Vision is much newer & its staff including the concierge understand & speak English. Additionally, Hotel Vision staff are polite & more smiley than those in BW Dongdaemun. The Airport Limousine Bus stop is at Dongdaemun Stadium & it's pretty far away from BW Dongdaemun hotel. However, food & shopping round Dongdaemun are much better than the quiet neighbourhood at Wangsimni (Hotel Vision).
I wish Hotel Vision would provide a ramp for luggage up/down the hotel rather than having to negotiate some 8-10 steps at the entrance.
We stayed in Rooms 306, 707 & 803, the higher the better. If you are given Room 306, pls request for another room as the whole day & night, you would hear beeping sound of reversing vehicles. We thought it was some garbage centre behind the hotel, so we walked there to check & found it is some parking facility. Moreover, Rm 306 has absolutely no view as there's some corrugated steel sheet blocking the view & sunlight but you'll get some fresh air & sound when you slide open the small window. If you stay in Seoul for a week, request for a higher floor, hopefully with no extra charge from asiarooms.com rate. (We paid extra for only 2 nights). Yes...in Korea, pls book & enjoy special internet rate as we checked with both Hotel Vision & Best Western Premier Kukdo, the walk-in rates are more expensive. For Hotel Vision is at least S$15 more & Kukdo is at least S$55 more depending on which website you book the hotel from. BW Premier Kukdo, opened in Mar 2007, very new, modern, near metro station & Airport Limousine bus stops before the hotel (9000Won), wish asiarooms.com will include this hotel in their bundle of hotels.
There are 2 convenience stores around Hotel Vision, namely, Family Mart a few doors away from the hotel & across the road, there's 7-11. There is a large supermarket/departmental store, 'Home Plus' , some 20-min walk away. I tried taking the train to Yongdu Station, Line 2 (Green in colour) to 'Home Plus', it took longer than 20 mins including the walking time to Wangsimni Station.
For Citibank customers, there is a Citibank branch @ Exit 8, Wangsimni Station which makes withdrawal of cash much easier. The exchange rate that Citibank offers is better than the credit card companies.
There is a computer @ hotel lobby which offers free internet service.
Oh yes...we drove out of Seoul for a few days so we put some luggage at Hotel Vision. They allowed it with no charge which I thought was a really good gesture!
All in all, I must say we enjoyed our stay at Hotel Vision. It's value for money. But the small size & zero-view of Room 306 really made us feel that we were staying in a cell/jail." |
