Hotel Review posted by Chong F L, Singapore in October 2005

This was our second stay at Metro. We last stayed there in May. We found the room facilities eg the kettle provided and the tea bags supplied most helpful. The room was relatively big compared to this Oct stay. We were given the tiniest room available although we made the booking almost a month earlier. Thought that we would be better treated as a return guest.

However, despite that, we loved the newness of the hotel and the location is great in terms of shopping and eating convenience. A little too far to walk to the Airport Limousine stop though.

The staff is as before, friendly and helpful. The internet access is easily available and the ambience and decor are delightful. I will definitely highly recommend this hotel.

"Clean tidy hotel recently tastefully refurbished rooms. Location is very central to viabrant Myndong area. Good for transport connections and interesting inner city walks during a short Seoul stopover. Good breakfast in upper level restaurant with polite efficient service. Room was quiet and bed comfortable - what more could you ask for?"

"one of the best location for everyone who enjoys shopping at myeongdong. a few-minute walk will bring you right to the center of shopping area. room is clean and nicely decorated. free broadband internet in the room and in business center keeps me in touch with my friends. (internet speed is pretty good for all you net-addicted) 5-minute walk to airport shuttle stop is very convenient on the way back to incheon. (have to go down/up the stairs on the way 'from' incheon tho) for everyone who likes shopping, the hotel is also 15-20 minutes away from namdaemun market(walk) and about 15 minutes from the nearest palace. (20-30 minute walk to city bus tour starting point also)"

"Hotel was clean and nice for the price and good location if you like being middle of the city."

"I was pleasantly surprised at this very reasonable and comfortable hotel. I'm an American living in Japan, so I'm used to smaller hotels, so the room size didn't bother me at all and in fact I found it perfectly spacious. The location is right in the heart of Myongdong, a popular tourist spot with lots of shopping. Getting to and from the airport involves taking a shuttle bus which stops at the nearby Lotte Hotel, and the previous comments are correct about having to lug your suitcase down and up stairs through the subway underground, because there's nowhere to cross the street there. I found it very doable though, but I guess for seniors or people who aren't able to pick up their luggage it would be tough. There's always taxis though, which are cheap in Seoul. I had one complaint - when I arrived I went to my room and it hadn't been cleaned yet! That was a first for me. So I went back down to the front and they were as surprised as me, apologized and offered for me to go to their nice restaurant on the top floor for a free coffee. I did, and in a few minutes (after I ordered the most expensive coffee on the menu of course) my room was all set. No big deal to me. Also across the street they've been constructing a huge shopping mall and it's still not done, probably another few months. For late sleepers on this side of the hotel it might be a problem. All in all a GREAT value and I'd go again."

"Very good hotel for the small budgets. In the downtown, close to all facilies, clean and perfect welcome. A bus shuttle (in front of Lotte hotel: 7 minutes by foot from Metro Hotel)every 25 minutes goes to Incheon International Airport. I recomend highly the Metro Hotel! "
