Hotel Review posted by Dave Taylor, United Kingdom in October 2005

I stayed at the Rainbow Hotel in Seoul in October 2005 and had a very pleasant trip. Although it is only a small hotel, it offered extraordinarily good value for money. The room was tidy, comfortable and clean; also very well-insulated against noise. Facilities are modest, but perfect for the independent traveller: ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, clean hot/cold water dispenser, small fridge, coffee/tea-making facilities (and small menu of room service), cable TV. It's also very convenient for exploring the city, with plenty of local restaurants within walking distance. And if arriving in Seoul for the first time, you simply catch the bus 601 from Incheon Intnl Airport and it drops and picks you up just round the corner from the hotel. My only quibble is that there is nowhere in the hotel for sending or receiving emails, although there are plenty of PC rooms nearby if you need to get internet access.

| "This was my second time to stay at Rainbow Hotel Seoul and I would stay there every single time.
The location is very convenient, within a few steps of Namyeong subway station and not far from Seoul Station.
The front desk personnel are friendly, efficient and very helpful. The charming lady gave me sound advice about locating a bookstore, just three subway stops away.
The room is spacious, with amenities and many TV channels.
There are many restaurants and fast food places close by, including 7-11, Baskin Robbins and Outback Steak House.
For the rate of $61 per night, there cannot be a better place from which to explore Seoul.
Very highly recommended. " |

| "So close to many eateries and 3 minutes to train station. It's very good for budget travelers but must travel with light baggage as bus stops at a busy main road near the hotel. Just 1 carryon & 1 middle size baggage for moving in and out of bus & sidewalk & finding your way to the hotel is recommended. It's cheap to travel in Seoul by train (there is a huge train network east/west & north/south and for a little more than 1 usd $ or 1000 wons from one end to the other) Pick up train guide at tourist kiosk and is easy to learn to use the service. The bank is very close for foreign money changing as the hotel do not have this service." |
