| "Having seen some of the reviews after booking I was a bit apprehensive but need not have worried. Everything was excellent, the service unparalelled, especially with the cars. And as for breakfast, I could have stayed and eaten there all day the choice was so good and varied between east and west." |

| "This hotel was ok but doesnt justify the price. facilities are very average for a 5 star hotel. breakfast was below average, american and english breakfast poor, although the korea breakfast was quite good.
This hotel has a good reputation in korea and i feel relys too heavy on this. personally wouldnt stay there again, im sure for the money there are many, many better hotels in seoul.
oh - not too mention the construction work taking place on the ground floor, you would think that they would stop there heavy machinary at night, well you would be wrong.
This fact was very disappointing and only due to an early flight and tiredness did i not get the chance to voice my opinions to management, otherwise they would have got an ear full!!!" |

| "This giant redbrick slab dominates the skyline and is set on the fringes of the green but central city areas of Namsan Park. The enormous hotel is set in 10 acres of well-kept parkland and feels like a pleasant university campus to walk around. A sloping ceiling lobby ceiling, plus grey stone columns and walls and the pine panelling reminds on of a international class museum or library. But it is luxurious, and the facilities are very extensive with virtually everything you could ask of in a city hotel. The duty free shopping centre for example, really is a full on shopping centre buzzing with shoppers stuffing their baskets with brand names. Smart and trim rooms are also enormous, and a welcome break from the traditionally sized and proportioned ones that are so common. They have satisfying big fat chunky beds, luxury bathrooms and the little Korean shutters on the windows, and plenty of bright wooden shades. The location near to Dongguk Metro Station puts the major shopping, tourist and business areas all within easy reach. The Shilla isn't cheap, but you quite literally get more for your money - the scale of it is huge. This is one for those who not only seek facilities and service, but need their space. " |
