"We booked two rooms at this hotel through Asia Rooms for my wife and I and our two teenage sons. Rooms were spacious and well decorated, reception spoke good English and were very helpful. Only 5 minutes walk to subway and Insadong market one way and 5 minutes to the palace the other. Seoul is an excellent city to visit and this hotel and excellent base to see it from."

"I was very pleasantly surprised. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and it was excellent value for money and exactly where I wanted to be in the art and antique section of the city. Breakfasts were buffet style with plenty of fresh fruit and cooked dishes....Western style. The only draw back was it was quite a long way from the hotel shuttle services from the airport. A taxi cost approximately $75 and a shuttle bus about $12."

| "My room was clean, comfortable, well appointed, nicely decorated and even offered a pleasant view.
The location was a perfect base for my brief 3 days of vacation touring.
The fitness center offered a good mix of machines; I never had to wait at the business center and the breakfast was a very abundant spread of Western and Korean options, hot and cold.
Topping all of this off was a particularly delightful, professional and caring staff.
The experience was so positive that I will seek out other Ascott brand hotels in future travels.

"despite the great location and facilities, the Somerset lacked in service. For example, the bell boys didn't come out to the curbside to get our luggage. also, when i returned to the hotel ladden with bags, no one offered to get hte door for me. finally, the receptionist were a bit rude. "

"We enjoyed our stay very much. We liked the location--it's centrally located, but it's quiet. It is near all sorts of museums, galleries, bookstores, banks, and government offices. "

"Initially, we checked into a room filled with "post-cigarette-smoke". When we asked to deoderise the room, our request was looked into immediately. Despite the effort, the smell still lingered. Therefore, we asked for a change of room, again they responded immediately and found us another one that smells much fresher. Inspite of these hiccups, their service recovery is excellent. The studio room we stayed in was rather spacious and I must say it's a good deal or even reasonable. The location is excellent as it's within walking distance to Insadong. Although the breakfast menu is the same everyday, it does provide a decent break from the ususal Korean food. The chef also fried my sunnyside-up as runny as I wanted it."

"The only complaint I can think of is that taxi drivers can't seem to find it very easily. Other than that, very nice, modern, clean, efficient, well-run, comfortable, somewhat bland, business hotel. Ideally located for tourists; walk in any direction five minutes and you'll run into something interesting. Starbucks on the ground floor for the homesick. I don't imagine there's a better one in Seoul for the price. "

"I really enjoyed my stay at Somerset! My mother and I shared a room there for a week and never felt crowded. The breakfast was great. The staff was very attentive. Definitely worth the price!"
