"Room and balcony are big, clean and good view, conformtable to stay but the bathroom needs some improvement as it looks old like 2 star hotel furnishing. Preferable disposable slipper for more hygiene reason."

"I have always discounted The Grand as unaffordable, but I stayed here in early July for 3 nights then when off to the south of Taiwan. I then returned for another 3 nights. The first 3 nights was a superior room and the second was for a budget room. For the little extra, the superior room was the best value - beautiful spacious room with a great view of Taipei. If I was visiting for an exhibition on a tight budget, then I would take a budget room where as the superior room is great for a holiday stay. Work out the difference in cost with what you pay downtown and you will be amazed!! With the shuttle bus, the access to the MRT is easy and Taipei Main Station is then 15 minutes away. The whole atmosphere was so peaceful and the outdoor pool and the woodland walks are a great bonus. The pool is an Olympic size 9 lane pool in a wonderful setting. Breakfast cost is under £10.00 (550NTD) and the selection is massive. I have visited Taipei about a dozen times and used a number of hotels, but this will be top of my list in the future. "

"Our family went to Taipei from 7 June to 10 June 2008. The unique Chinese structure of the hotel impressed us most. It was very spacious and magnificent. When we arrived at the hotel, we asked for a connecting room as stated in our email to the hotel. However, due to the communication problem, we were offered adjacent rooms instead of connecting rooms. Despite there was a warning sign, we still found the tiles in the bathroom very slippery. Further, the room was not sound proof, so we were disturbed by our room-mates at night and in the early morning. As regards the quality of food, the buffet breakfast was good and there were lots of varieties. We also had our meal at "Yuen Yuen" where the dumplings and steamed buns were very tasty. There is also a free shuttle bus service provided by the hotel which runs from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. It took us around 5 - 8 minutes from the hotel to the MRT station. "
