This hotel has a pretty much advantage because of its location. It is rather near to the XiMengDing MRT station, which is about 5~10 mins of strolling. It is not difficult to be identify since it is facing the ChungHwa main road. Taipei bus terminal is at close proximity as well, about 10~15mins walk. This is where you will be able to catch GuoGuang bus provider to CKS International Airport at a very reasonable fee of NT$125/person. Departure time is easy and frequecies is rather high. I will not recommend a booking make for transport to the airport suggested by the hotel as that cost 4 times the total amount taking into consideration of two travellers.
This hotel provides a rather strict rules yet is good security to the guest of the hotel. NO guests are allowed to stay beyond 12midnite else a charge will be incurred at NT$300. Personally, i believe bigger organization/hotel all pretty easy with guests staying overnite as long as it is well taken care of and non disturbance.
The room is rather small but is adequate just for two persons. Toilet is small but well kept and maintained.
Breakfast spread, really simple but is easy going just for the early morning. You can expect more Chinese food than the standard English breakfast with bacons and eggs.
The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. They have pretty good English standard - spoken but for writing, i believe they can brush up a little as i notice a note in the room quoting, "...the drinks and snakes are free for the guest to consume.." By the way, if you didn't notice, it should be snaCks and not snakes.. i got a fright. :)
This hotel is pretty ok and really no harm trying yet i hope the house rules can mellow just a little.

| "The Hotel was located in a great place. Rooms were clean. Only gripe i could have, would be because the room does not come with a window.
Staff were pleasant and accomodating. Breakfast served was decent.
This is good value for money.

| "Wonstar hotel is located right in Ximending & is pretty prominent to miss out as it is a building on its own. For those who aren't sure how to get there, by train would be best (exit 6 of Ximending station, turn right and go all the way straight, you'll see the infamous party world on your right, and eventually wonstar). The receptionists were all very friendly & polite. They would go an extra mile to answer your queries if you're not too sure about where to visit in Taipei. Also, in the hall they have a computer for tenant's use. As our room was upgraded at FOC to deluxe room, our toilet came with a jacuzzi bathtub, which is pretty spacious. Room size was acceptable and it came with a huge LCD TV with a wide selection of programmes! However, our room doesn't come with a window (I would advise not to as well since there wouldn't be much of a view) and part of the carpet was constantly wet as the aircon was leaking. Haven't tried the breakfast as food w/in ximending was much more attractive. Overall, quite a pleasant stay and I would very much like to extend my gratitude to all the helpful receptionists in Wonstar. Thanks!

| "The typhoon cut our stay short buy two days. We were there less than 20 hours.
Therefore our evaluation is superficial.
Is there any chance we could be reimbursed for the two nights we did not stay but pre-paid?" |

| "The Hotel was perfectly adequate, but the details on this site were of a completely different hotel! Thankfully the One Star is in a better location than advised, so if you don't mind being messed about for a few hours after a days travelling, this is for you." |
