Hi all We stayed at this hotel for 8 days and we had a nice stay but it was tainted with a few bad experiences. The rooms were great, lovely actually. Cleanliness was fantastic, location is great if you enjoy the hussle and bussle of a busy city (great for young shoppers and fashion). Breakfast got a tad repetitve, but you expect that, though the coffee was superb. Only gripes were that we were moved from the other OneStar hotel to this one because the other one was 'closed for renovations' which we were told by both email and the reception. On our city walks we happened to walk past the hotel we originally booked at and it was open and they were more than happy to show us room prices and that they were trading as usual. Very confusing. When we checked in at this hotel (which was paid for) they told us we specifically requested a single room when our booking was changed to this hotel, which is the opposite to what all our documentation read, so the first night me and my business partner had to share a single bed. All was recitified at reception that night and they told us the next morning we had a new room the following day, they forgot to tell us that we had to pay an extra $150USD for the remaining 7 nights for changing rooms, very disappointed. Rest of they stay as i said was tainted by that experience but it worked out ok in the end.

"The Hotel was located in a great place. Rooms were clean. Only gripe i could have, would be because the room does not come with a window. Staff were pleasant and accomodating. Breakfast served was decent. This is good value for money. "

"Wonstar hotel is located right in Ximending & is pretty prominent to miss out as it is a building on its own. For those who aren't sure how to get there, by train would be best (exit 6 of Ximending station, turn right and go all the way straight, you'll see the infamous party world on your right, and eventually wonstar). The receptionists were all very friendly & polite. They would go an extra mile to answer your queries if you're not too sure about where to visit in Taipei. Also, in the hall they have a computer for tenant's use. As our room was upgraded at FOC to deluxe room, our toilet came with a jacuzzi bathtub, which is pretty spacious. Room size was acceptable and it came with a huge LCD TV with a wide selection of programmes! However, our room doesn't come with a window (I would advise not to as well since there wouldn't be much of a view) and part of the carpet was constantly wet as the aircon was leaking. Haven't tried the breakfast as food w/in ximending was much more attractive. Overall, quite a pleasant stay and I would very much like to extend my gratitude to all the helpful receptionists in Wonstar. Thanks! "

"The typhoon cut our stay short buy two days. We were there less than 20 hours. Therefore our evaluation is superficial. Is there any chance we could be reimbursed for the two nights we did not stay but pre-paid?"

"The Hotel was perfectly adequate, but the details on this site were of a completely different hotel! Thankfully the One Star is in a better location than advised, so if you don't mind being messed about for a few hours after a days travelling, this is for you."
