1. The location is within XiMenTing. Location seems good, but it also means that you will have to put up with the noises generated by the people and motorcycles/scooters at midnight. There's was some commotion at about 2am when some youngsters were creating a scene and the police was called in. That's a big minus!
2. The FreeGo bus does not stop at the hotel; rather it stops outside of XiMenTing area where you'll need to walk with your luggages to the hotel.
3. I had borrowed a trolley from the hotel, and had to pushed the luggages to the hotel. The receptionists were busy chatting while I brought the luggages into the lift.
4. I had asked the lady receptionist to help call my car rental company, and she refused. She said that just follow instructions on the room phone, which was what I did and it didn't go through. (I found out later, that there's an extra zero which was to be keyed in, but it was not stated in the instructions nor in the namecard which I had).
5. You can now buy FreeGo bus tickets at the reception. BUT the price is more expensive than if you call FreeGo's hotline.
6. The rooms are REALLY small!
I had stayed at Royal Castle, and service was good! Location is in a quieter area and 2 minutes walk from XiMenTing. And it costs less.

| "Rainbow Hotel is situated smack in the middle of Ximending. It is just 3-5mins walk to the Ximen MRT. Which is one station away from Taipei Main Station.
Rooms were decent though i got the smallest room on the floor. The smallest room is furthest from the walking street so there weren't much noise. However the windows faces the back alley with the next building probably 2.5 metres away. Humming of the aircon units is constantly heard.
Recommend for no frills travelling and definately convenient.
Will use Rainbow Hotel again if in Taipei." |

| "The hotel is located in the middle of Ximending, making it the perfect location for travellers, as Ximending is always bustling with activities, even late at night. Moreover, the push carts selling food are located right outside the hotel, so no worries about going hungry! However, it might be a good idea for the hotel to state the check-in time for travellers. When we arrived at the hotel at 2 plus, we were told that our room was not yet ready but we could deposit our luggage in the room first. The room was in a disgusting mess and that sort of spoilt our first impression of the hotel." |

| "What i like about the hotel is that it is situated right smack in the heart of Ximending, which is also very near to the Ximen Station. The hotel staffs are polite and courteous, friendly. The room service is excellent. One thing to point out is the room attendant who clean up the bathroom everyday without fail, rearranging the toiletries in a the proper order for the occupants. If breakfast is included, i think the stay at Rainbow will be most wonderful." |
