Access to the Rainbow Hotel is easy (5 min from the MTR) and a few minutes by taxi from the main train station. You are also next to the lovely square of the Red Theater and not far from the Longshan Temple night market.
My room was a bit seventies style with a good large bed and everything worked perfectly and was clean. The staff was nice and helpful. The restaurant room where one has breakfast is quiet with day-light making the place pleasant. Breakfast is correct.
One thing is particular about this hotel : it is located in the heart of a pedestrian area where young people shop and, while in the room, one can hear music from shops outside in the evening but I found the level of sound not disturbing and it stops around 10 30/11 PM when shops close. Then, the area is very quiet. Otherwise, the atmosphere in these streets is funny in the evening and you can find eateries around easily.

| "The hotel is located in the middle of Ximending, making it the perfect location for travellers, as Ximending is always bustling with activities, even late at night. Moreover, the push carts selling food are located right outside the hotel, so no worries about going hungry! However, it might be a good idea for the hotel to state the check-in time for travellers. When we arrived at the hotel at 2 plus, we were told that our room was not yet ready but we could deposit our luggage in the room first. The room was in a disgusting mess and that sort of spoilt our first impression of the hotel." |

| "What i like about the hotel is that it is situated right smack in the heart of Ximending, which is also very near to the Ximen Station. The hotel staffs are polite and courteous, friendly. The room service is excellent. One thing to point out is the room attendant who clean up the bathroom everyday without fail, rearranging the toiletries in a the proper order for the occupants. If breakfast is included, i think the stay at Rainbow will be most wonderful." |
