"When I am in Bangkok I always go at the Prince Palace. The last was the 7th time. The location is great (chinatown) just 10 minutes of taxi from Khaosan and the temples. The staff is helpful and polite (.... but they know me now). The breakfast is one of the best I've ever had in an hotel. the best choice in Bangkok for that range of price."

"The hotel is not ideally located but getting to and fro Pratunam and Siam Centre is convenient by the water taxi which is just next to the hotel. The frequency is about every 15 minutes and it costs 8 baht each way. The rooms are pretty dated but the airconditioning in our room was pretty good...bonus! The pool area is pretty decent for a dip and absorbing the sun rays. The buffet breakfast was good for the 1st morning after which it's a monotonous repeat...there's no variation whatsoever. The front desk was both helpful and otherwise. We preferred the evening shift during our stay as they were helpful and smiles...the morning ladies seemed to want to go on a 'Muay Thai' round with you.
The hotel sits on 6 floors of wholesale shopping...great place to get bargains provided you buy in greater numbers than 1...minumum purchase is 6 pieces but excellent deals! Treat yourself to a sight by waking up early, like 4 am, and head down to the streets below and watch the hustle and bustle of locals/retailers getting their goods from the wholesalers.
Don't get into the hotel taxi....it's a rip off! Get one of the meter axis outside...make sure they run by meter...flag off at 35 baht. Stay clear away from the 'Tuk Tuk' rides as they look forward to fleecing tourists. Also there is a scam going on around Bangkok where a local will befriend the discerning traveller and pretend that he is either a University student or something else and willing to take you on a tour of the temples as he is off...here's a 'Tuk Tuk' driver not too ar away waiting for a signal....just walk away politely with a smile and a pleasant 'No Thank You!'
The stay was not unpleasant but we would not stay here again! It's quite a walk to Chinatown but we had 6 days here so we enjoyed the day trips on foot around Chinatown. Make sure you walk by the riverside next to the hotel...a feast for shutterbugs!"

"Very good located, not far from the sights, in the middle of real thai markets.Service was very good except the fact, that you can't get any maps at the reception. Excellent breakfast buffet."

Comments: It is a great place to stay, especially if you like wholesale and cheap shopping because there streets nearby are lined up with shops and roadside stalls selling wholesale clothing, which open as early as 5 am local time. However, if you prefer shopping at shopping centres, the hotel is a bit far from the city area i.e. shopping centres like Platinum, Siam City, and taxi drivers will refuse to drive you there in the late afternoon or evenings because of the bad traffic. The service at the hotel is good, the staff are very friendly and helpful. However, the breakfast menu at the hotel lacks variety, I have stayed there for more than 5 times and I can memorize what's available on the buffet table already. The hotel provides a pool, gym, pub and other facilities like spa. Although the area the hotel is located tends to be quieter than other areas at night, a 5 mins walk from the hotel takes you to a night market where locals sell food, vegetables, fruits and other accessories.
