Probably not
The not so good: 1. The room configuration I booked was incorrect. Appears the link on the Asia rooms site was incorrect even though I was assured by the Asia Rooms operator that what was on the www was what I was going to get. We then had to get another bed put in the room. This situation wasn't handled as well as it should have been leaving me feeling like I was making up stories and compelled to log on myself (which I paid for!!) to prove to the Mgmt staff! 2. The room was very luxurious, bit noisy in the morning from traffic, the air con in master bedroom was noisy. For such a luxury hotel, I thought the cleaning service was lacking somewhat as per my experiences. 3. Taxi's have no clue where the 'Ascott' is if you use the hotels name. The business card at the hotel also did not have in Thai the location of the hotel. Once we worked out if you said Sathorn Soi 9 - there was no longer a problem. 4. There is a couple of eating places in the hotel which are ok. One cafe was always closed for an evening meal, the new japanese rest was ok for food, but the service needs a major overhaul in the way they present themselves and go about their job. 5. Location is good if you want to be out of the buzz of Bangkok. Close enough to Patpong, short walk to skytrain, short walk to the river. Nothing much else around. My husband assures me that the massage place across the road was very good. The Good 1. One of the Conceirge guys Prasit I think from memory was excellent. The best Concierge I have ever seen in action. Good on him! Such an efficient, obliging, happy character. 2. Easy enough to get a taxi via the Concierge to wherever you want to go. 3. Nice pool area with current/modern outfit. 4. Very safe place to stay and you do not feel like your staying in a big hotel. Relaxed lobby atmosphere.

"The bathroom is ok, we couldn't find the stop for the bathtub; it was a pity that we couldn't not make use of the bath."

"All services provided by the hotel was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful staff they had. Facilities and amenities that you could think of were all available within the hotel as well as in the hotel room. The hotel room (service apartment) was huge, the biggest room I ever stayed at. Very clean, modern, nice and big. I was impressed. The location of the hotel is about 10 mins walk from the nearest skytrain station. It is not located in a tourist area though. There's a big body massage shop (Healthland) 5 mins walk from the hotel, which was quite convenient and affordable. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was very good. This was my first time to Bangkok and my hotel experience was impressive. I had a good time in Bangkok."
