Hotel Review posted by steve, United States in November 2004

my wife and i have stayed there several times but i think we are done. BBC is the only english tv and it repeats very 30 minutes. The rooms are so dark (3- 15 watt bulbs)that we upgraded to the suite ,the room they show in the picture, which was great except it cost 47 usd. The tv is so bad and not enough light to read. We huddled under the bulb like a candle. The pool is nice but never gets any sun so believe it or not, its too cold. The showers dont spray, they tumble out in a stream like a hose and they only have bath towels,no hand towels, with holes. I dont mind any of this if the price is right. But is isnt. Breakfast is included and used to be great. Now it is good but half of what it used to be. I have stayed there several times and it keeps getting worse and costing more. The location is really good and thats why i have come back but i think now its time to move on. I have stayed in all areas of Bangkok and for a day or 2 its ok. I am usually there for a week or more. Nice place just not worth the money anymore.

"This is an excellent 'good value' hotel option if you're staying in Bangkok and want to see the city. Stay here and you'll get a modern hotel with all the essentials of a clean room, clean bedlinen, adequate breakfast and helpful service but at a far lower rate than you will pay at other establishments of a similar standard. But the real winner is the location, it gives you the freedom to explore the city easily by both river and skytrain as they are both just a few minutes walk away."

"Room was adequate. There was no refrigerator or coffee pot in the room. The neighborhood is the only really big downfall. There are no decent restaurants around it except the one in the hotel and no where to get coffee. They should at least have a coffee pot in the lobby. It is close to the business district which is convenient. I would possibly stay again."

"Room was small and dingy and lacking conveniences. Breakfast was terrible. You can find much better hotels in Bangkok for the same price."
