Very good location close to the night market, close to the Metro and even relatively close to the Airport.
However... entering the rooms we were a bit disappointed. The views are spectatcular but only if your window is clean which it not, of course. Than the furniture are very used and compared to e.g. the Peninsula a lower standard (rather small bed, rather old and small TV, just a normal shower and a rather small baththub). All hotel services especially the Spa are overpriced, the staff is okay but a bit arrogant - again, not as good as in the Peninsula.
The Vertigo Restaurant on top is a must. Great views, very good service, amazing food and all that even for reasonable prices compared to european dimensions.
Breakfast is very good, with a wide variety, but the whole hotel is completely undercooled so I god a bag cold which I am still suffering from.
The lifts are annoying sometimes.
All in all: Of course the Banyan Tree is a five star Hotel and it is absolutely okay but our expectations have risen upfront and were not fully satisfied.
Recommendation: Stay there for one or two nights and make your own opinion.

| "The corridors to the rooms were poorly ventilated and did not provide a pleasant approach and departure from the room due to a musty odour. The room was a very good size and well equipped. Due to renovations the breakfast was shifted to another restaurant within the hotel and the breakfast service was split between different rooms. On one occasion as the breakfast area was full we were directed to the club lounge area on another level. Whilst the breakfast was adequate it doesnt match the quality of the Intercontinental in Bangkok where we have stayed before. The location is OK but not as well located as hotels closer to BTS stations" |

| "This was the second visit to the hotel. I cannot believe just how amazing it is. I booked two rooms for total of 5 guests and the hotel accomodated the three in one room with a roll-away bed.
I had deluxe club rooms which included too much to add here but suffice to say that although I have travelled to and lived in many countries in the world, the BANYAN TREE in Bangkok is the best in the world of those I have visited and there are many 5 to 7 star hotels among them.
For rooms, ammenities, attention to detail,restaurants,meals, services. (I had been un well and some flowers and a Get well card was delivered to my room and the Manager called several times to see If there was anything they could bring me) THE STAFF WERE SO SO NICE, THE THAI PEOPLE ARE JUST WONDERFUL.
AMAZING! FABULOUS! OUTSTANDING!
Thankyou all so much, Erin Honeman and family." |

| "Superb Service, nice staff, one oft the best SPA's i have ever seen, very good restaurants - these are the positives;
Room Furniture is getting old, AirCon is noisy and there was a lot of noise due to the undergoing renovation-works during my stay - which have not been published before;
Overall ist is a very good hotel and could be one of my " |

| "Banyan Tree is an excellent 5-star hotel with an absolutely high-class spa and a fascinating roof-top bar; the rooms are big, nicely equipped and service is exeeding expectations; we had no time to explore and make use of all facilities, but most likely, we will be back to this hotel next time; it is not cheap, but overall offers an acceptable price-value level;" |
