Hotel Review posted by Jim Boye & Anne Geddes (Bathgate Scotland), United Kingdom in March 2003

Anne and i stayed for 4 days in this in May 2002.We stopped off on our way to Koh Sumui. Our stay despite BA mislaying our luggage for 3 days was made up with the very personal and professional attention of the staff in the hotel. We have been to many hotels in the Far East but this is one of the most impressive yet. It is central for all the markets cafes and restaurants. We had an absolute brilliant time in Bangkok and would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stop off.
If you do try the local eats in the market if you dare deep fried silk worms, scorpions etc. it will a memory you won’t forget.
We are returning this year to stay again to do all the touristy things again. Try the piano lounge (don’t) if you hate heights but the view is absolutely spectacular at night.
Once you have visited Bangkok and stayed here You Will Go Back am sure.
If still unsure look at the pictures of the hotel or e-mail me i will return any enq.

| "The hotel is very comfortable and well located very close to the Sky Train station of Nana and therefore only a couple of stops to the main shopping areas.
The hotel is clean and very confortable and has a good range of facilities, when I satyed a couple of the restaurants were being refurbished but even that didn't detract from my stay.
The staff wre very helpful and could not have been nicer
There is a really first class buffet set up for breakfast
I have now stayed at this hotel a couple of times and will continue to do so in the future" |

| "Ecellent standard hotel, in a busy location. Plenty of restaraunts & bars around - so you are not tied to the high hotel prices for meals and drinks. " |

| "I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last ten years and love the location. However, as well maintained as it is, it seems nothing has been replaced and the place is feeling worn.
Just a few simple things would change the feel of the rooms. Some newer, fresher designed bedspreads and/or carpeting, and a flatscreened, decent sized television would be a vast improvement. I wanted to watch an important sporting event and had to sit at the foot of the bed because the televisions look to be medium low quality, about ten years old, and quite small.
There is just no excuse to not update this well located hotel with great people who work there. It is a waste of a former gem in one of the great Sukhumvit locations.
For $20 per day more, you can do a lot better close by. It's too bad because I really want to love the Landmark like I used to." |
