Would I stay at this location
again:

Absolutely!
The Peninsula really is a superb hotel, probably the best I've stayed in (or certainly on par with the best) and probably the best in Bangkok if not all of Thailand. All of the little touches are there, from the impeccable service from the staff to the amenities in the room and the general hotel facilities. The location is actually better than the other top hotels too. The Peninsula is on the other side of the river from the city. The only inconvenience of this is a delightful boat trip across the river that runs from and to the Skytrain station every 5 minutes and is provided free of charge by the hotel. The boat trip is part of the experience! The view from the Peninsula's side is better too. You look back towards the entire city whereas the other hotels look across the river at not very much at all. Can't wait to go back!

"A very professional hotel indeed but probably alittle too much for our style, though many would love it. Well trained staff although not always having the guest in mind when offering advice. When enquiring about a convenience store was told it was across the very busy street. On investigating there was one just outside the hotel entrance near a walk bridge that would have taken over the busy street to the convenience store on the other side if I'd want to use that one. Taxi access to the city is hindered by heavy traffic at times, the hotel suggest that you use their boat to cross the river before using a cab, in most situations good advice. We had a balcony room which was lovely but it revealed a number of things. First we could see from way the curtains were positioned & the vibrating sound that the above floor was having some renovation work done, but when the front desk was asked about the noise they didn't let on at first that they knew about any renovation work. Took a phone call to the engineer ! The other issue we discovered from the balcony was one of privacy, particularly at night. As the balcony rooms are set back from the other rooms with corner windows it is possible for the windowed front rooms to look back onto balcony & into room. Also at night possible for those on the balcony to see a reflected view into the front windowed rooms if their curtains are left open. A situation that the other room occupants may not realise. View from room is fantastic, with activity on the river a highlight. Lighting in the bathroom makes you feel like youré in the dressing room of a star !"

"Ecellent service, great greeting, good food, lovely pool, just a little taxi drive to some of the main tourist attractions that can take a little time in traffic but still a very good stay!"
