I stayed there for a period of 6 days 5 nights with my friend and it was really worth the money.
The receptionists were really friendly towards us! However we have to pay a deposit when we checked in - security reasons/ outgoing phonecalls etc. Initially i thought we'll get cheated but we were wrong. we did get our money back!
The door man was really helpful too, he gave us tips on where to go at night and also directions. Everyone was really helpful there!
Breakfast is the same everyday but it didn't really bother me. You'll get served coffee or tea by the waiters/waitresses. They're friendly too!
But the trouble is, you have to collect a voucher for breakfast every morning from the reception.
The lift is right at the end of the corridor and only can contain up to 4 people.
The corridors are rather dimly lit and really quiet(i stayed on the 3rd level- same level as the PJ Spa). It gets rather spooky sometimes
PJ Watergate is located right opposite Indra Regent Hotel. It's also located near major shopping area like Platinum Fashion Mall, Big C, Central World,Siam Square, MBK etc. Taking a taxi(by meter) should not go above 100THB to each place. Besides, it's all within walking distance but it will take a while (approx10-15mins). From PJ watergate to Chatuchak only cost us 58THB (in the morning).
Most taxi drivers do not know where it is located at therefore i advice you to print out the name of the hotel in Thai. This makes every thing easier.
Incidentally, we made friend with a taxi driver by the name MR CHALOR. He is very smart looking and he speaks rather fluent english. We see him outside PJ Watergate every morning and we believe he knows the area well and he should be honest and trustworthy therefore we arranged for him to send us to the airport on the day we check out. He charged us at a rate of 400THB (including toll charge) it's a little bit expensive but i feel that he deserve the extra credit because we overslept on the last day and he waited patiently for us under the rain.
Anyone wants a trusty taxi driver? He's the one!
Bottom line is, it was a pleasant stay at PJ Watergate and everything was great especially for a budget hotel! (:

| "This is my first time staying at Pj watergate and the experience was made good by the excellent service of the staff. The staff are really friendly and responsive to requests. They are also generally young so it's easier to 'click' with them.
Room-wise, I'll much prefer Samram Place cos it looks cleaner and brighter. I got the third floor of Pj and the rooms are quite old looking. Had a peek at second floor rooms and they're much cleaner and brighter.
Location-wise, it's really near to all the shopping places like Platinum, Pratunam and MBK etc. Walking distance. It's also quite a safe place as there are a lot of stalls outside the hotel so no worries about going back hotel late at night." |

| "Beware of Room No.101. It's on the 1st levet next to the cafe & Cafe Washroom. It's so smelly & get horrible throughout the night. We make a complaint to the hotel front desk and ask for change of room, though there is a empty room, they refuse to change citing the rooms is full at the hotel. The Front desk Ladies are not helpful at all. They get a house-keeper come to our rooom and spray some perfume and ask us to bear the night.Breakfast was satisfied for a budget hotel and location was convienient for shopping." |

| "We chose PJ to stay one night, cause it is near to the clothes market of Bankok. Next morning, we went to the market, but we bought nothing. The markst is not suitable for us.
Cause we had 3 adults, PJ's room is a little small to us. But it is clean. One thing we do not like is that the air-condition is too noisy.
The breakfast is good.
Anyway, it is a good choice for the budget travellers." |

| "Rooms and corridors are quite rundown at level 3.
Room 320 has a terrible foul smell!
A little far by foot about 15 to 20 mins to World Trade Centre. It is more a 2 stars hotel for budget travellers but paying for a 3 star price." |
