The Swiss lodge hotel was the perfect way to end our holiday. After staying in a range of accommodation whilst in Thailand, the Swiss Lodge offered luxurious accommodation at budget price. We stayed in the standard room and it was great. The bathroom is particularly spacious but there is a bath, and shower which is unusual. Sukhumvit makes the perfect stopping place if you are staying in Bangkok. The Skytrain is literally metres away from the hotel and tuk-tuks and taxis are always on hand anytime, day or night.
The only recommendation I would advise is to ask for a high floor in the Swiss Lodge. Bangkok is noisy and is smoggy (but fun) if you want a good view of the skyline and breathable air ask for floors 10+
Great place to stay, great location.

| "Coming to the hotel gave me an immediate impression that this hotel definitely is a bit dated.
Check-in went smooth, got my key (yes, old fashioned)and made my way up the stairs to the elevator. Door didn't lock itself and I had to remember when leaving again to lock the door with the bulky key.
My room was clean however had a smell of someone having smoked there previously. After asking it turned out that there are no specific non-smoking rooms. Apart from that nothing fancy about the room itself. Pretty uncharming but well working. Toilet was running. View from my room was directly into a high-rise building site. TV channels worked fine.
Had a good sleep, was surprised that the breakfast had a lot to offer. I would say a majority of guests are Asians which reflected the breakfast. However there was the usual cereal, bread, egg, and a cook to make a fresh omelette.
Went to the pool. Not a very big one, but they have sun beds around it and there is actually sun on the pool from around 11 am troughout the day. Not many people there at all.
The area is quite busy. Walking to Sukhumvit Road is one minute walk. In the near area you'll find 7-Eleven, restaurant, massage shops and a few hip clubs on Soi 11.
All in all a nice package for a good price if you don't expect anything fancy.
