Hotel Review posted by AJ, Brunei Darussalam in March 2005

Stayed at White Palace Hotel in Bangkok for a week. Pricewise not too bad. Location good, close to Pratunam market, walking distance to Pratunam Centre, Big C and World Trade Centre. Surprisingly taxi drivers sometimes unaware of the hotel's location. Be careful with the tuk-tuk drivers at the hotel, they will try their best to divert you to the gem store in return for a free fuel coupon of course.. would grade this hotel higher if they improve their services... by the 2nd day their laundry machine broke down and it seem there is no urgency in solving the problem coz until we checked out on the 7th day the machine was still out of service... no tel directory and writing materials in the room, breakfast was not bad but I would suggest if they try different variety each day (menu  the same everyday)  One occassion the front office staff misplaced my room key although I insist and very sure that I have left it with them they refuse to believe me until we opened my room with spare key to proof that I didn't left the key inside. The staff attitude not that bad but seem they are biased to Europeans.. very WRONG.. coz I paid for my stay....I hope this comment goes to the hotel management..

"I stay in this hotel for almost 4 nights. The location of the hotel is quite terrible almost 250 metres away from main road and you have to walk along this dark alley in order to get to your hotel. For those who choose this hotel i suggest you walk along soi 11 ( i think ) which is the road towards Baiyoke Sky as it is brighter and populated due to the night market and from there walk towards the hotel which is another 50 metres away. The room is clean, big and quite comfortable but do not expect carpet floor and other fancy stuffs. We had water leaking from the toilet ceiling once and the door is quite thin. Hence you are able to hear screaming from next door kids and noise from closing of the door. The plus point is the location which is so near Platinum Mall ,Pantip, Night market and food stores but its a long walk to the nearest BTS Ratchathewei( Approx 800 metres). Good thing is that provide massage services in the hotel lobby so its good for a nice massage after a long day of shopping."

"The location is good for those who wanted to find the budget hotel. I am not happy with the bathroom facility with no toothbrush and paste supply. The shower tape and hole is old and sometime out of order. Did not serve warm water to the room when requested. The cafe is small and serve with the simple food. Overall it is an ideal budget hotel. "Great value for money hotel. The staff were lovely, the location was great, the room was really nice. The only thing that could be a slight problem is the noise......the room maids were really noisy, and they've got phones outside the rooms in the corridors that go off really early. Bring ear plugs though and you'll have no probs!"

"My first time encountered a hotel that asked you to fill in all the guests (8 pax) by yourself. Just imagine when you checked in at 8.00pm very tired from your tour. We have provided all the details (Nos. of rooms and nos. of person per room and who stay in which room) when we applied for reservation throug your website. All the 3 counter staffs just stand there and wait for you to fill up the check-in form (8 sheets). Really crazy or the new mgmt must be foolish to implement such regulation (mentioned that they are not allowed to fill up the forms as instructed by mgmt). No sound proof. U can heard doors closing or shouting not only in your own floor but those above and below you! How to sleep with such a big fanfare! Breakfast, either no place to sit or not enough food or drink. So it doesn't mean that when u can find a table to sit, u will be able to get your food! I will never bring my group to this hotel anymore! "
