"quite new hotel with spacious rooms and modern equipment as well as very good facilities such as pool and gym. Wifi in "public" places, but modem for room broadband connection can be added at a really modest price (USD 25 for a whole week!)
The area is relatively far away (in Chiang Mai distances), but nevertheless in an area, which seems to be developing with restaurants as well. If you want to go to the River and/or Night Market area, the cab ride will be about 15 minutes.
I enjoyed the hotel very much especially since I spent 6 days/nights in Chiang Mai. If you are there just for 1-2 days, then you would probably rather look for one of the numerous hotels in the Night Market area.

"Kantary Hills is a good place to stay if you do not mind not being right in the centre of Chiang Mai. It's actually quite nice being a 10-15 minute tuk tuk ride away because then you get to see more of the surroundings.
It is very convenient for looking after yourself because of the kitchenette style and housekeeping still come to clean your room every day if required.
I was lucky and had a room overlooking the pool, unfortuantely my sister and her partner's room was overlooking a car park, made a big difference.
Room service food was not great at all. Used it twice and both times the food was only look warm and tempura soggy when it should be light and crisp.
However the buffet breakfast was very good, good variety, although the waitress service a little slow.
The Executive Lounge is a fantastic idea. It doesn't matter how many hours you may have to kill between checking out at midday and catching your flight because you have the comfort of the lounge with internet access, and free tea, coffee and small snacks - great idea.
All in all a great place to stay for your money."

"Having stayed in many, many hotels in many countries, particularly around Asia, I must say that we found Kantary Hills to be a fantastic place: excellent on all scores and would recommend to anyone. Absolutely great value for money. The feedback from guests on Asiarooms.com is very accurate - I think Jethro Taylor's post (Canada) of May 2008 gives the most accurate and complete description - have a read of it. Any criticism would be petty (need tea/coffee making and iron/ironing board in rooms; don't make poached eggs at breakfast!). We will definitely return."

Comments: This Hotel is very good, although I would not rate it as good as a 5*,there are a few areas which they could improve. The rooms are very good sized,it has everything in it except an ironing board and iron. This Hotel& serviced apartments, has washing machine etc,so why not an iron, there is a room on the 3rd floor with one ironing board and iron to service the whole hotel!which means you have to carry anything you want to iron in a lift full of other guests! You can hire a DVD to play in your room from the hotel but there are none in English or English sub-titles all in Lebanese language. We stayed for 10 nights and our room was at first cleaned by a reasonable time, but as our stay progressed we found our room was not being cleaned until late afternoon. The Nimman Bar & Grill was vey good value,we had a few meals and drinks,we ordered the "home grown meat"(steak) and it was delicious along with many other meals, the service was very good, and value for money. There are plenty places to eat near and around the Hotel and Tuk Tuks are nearly always waiting outside the hotel or you could get a taxi, and again very good value,no more than 150baht for any distance and they do not try to rip you off unlike Bangkok. If you decide you want to make any meals in your room(although I cant think why you would)there are plenty shops nearby,Tesco etc.The room doesn't have a mini bar,but again you can purchase drinks at Tesco for use in your room. The pool was very pleasant and never too busy, the size of the pool was good and big enough for anything you wanted to do.The area is very quiet, apart from the odd Jet fighter flying low overhead, you are far enough away from any busy traffic,an ideal location.
I would recommend this Hotel to anyone and would stay again if we were ever in Chiang Mai.It was good value for money and probably correctly priced. The staff were very good.
