| "This is a great hotel to stay. The room was spacious and tasteful, the breakfast was fantastic. Most importantly the staff was courteous and friendly. The hotel facilities such as swimming pool and sauna were wonderful. One minor inconvenience is the lack of safety deposit box in the room. They only have the central safety deposit boxes in the reception. If I return to Chiang Mai I would definitely stay here again. One tip I would like to share, the hotel has its own airport shuttle van which costs less than the taxi. When you arrive at Chiang Mai airport look for a man with an EMPRESS sign. Ask him whether he can give you a lift back to the hotel. It costs 90B for the lift to the hotel which is only 5 km away. When you depart, book for the transport at the reception for 90B. Note that there is also a taxi booking service in the lobby who will charge you 200B. Another tip - go to a book shop in town and get a Nancy Chandler's Chiang Mai map for B180. You will definitely enjoy Chiang Mai much more!

| "This is the third time that I have stayed at the Empress Hotel out of the five times that I have been to Chiang Mai. It is a great hotel for the price with a wonderful buffet breakfast and a great 2 for 1 happy hour from 5-8 in the lounge bar. I like the location and the staff in friendly and helpful." |
