"Former condo that has been converted into a 10 unit hotel. They offer many facilities for so few rooms, so not sure how they make enough money to survive because their room rates are very reasonable. WARNING!... even if you only have 2 occupants... do not pay to stay in the 1 bedroom units... they are both on the lowest floor, are dark, have no view, and smell very dingy... pay the extra money for a 2 bedroom unit and ask to stay in the highest floor available. The views in the rooms on the highest floors are awesome. The rooms are very spacious, but they need to be refurbished... everything inside looks a bit run down, and the beds are hard. The pool and grounds at are very nice. Service by the front desk was just ok... attitude could be better, but at least they understand English ok. I think the Spa is overpriced... I never used it and only saw one other couple who did use it during my stay. They should really lower the spa prices to compete better with the other spas in the city. The fitness room is a joke... only one old 4-station weight machine in a small dingy shack on the hotel grounds. The restaurant, is not so great, if you do not want to go all the way into the city, you can still find some wonderful food close by at one of the other resorts in the neighborhood... the Four Seasons Resort is only about 5 minutes away by car. There are many activities available within a 10 minute drive of Jirung including... Elephant Trekking at the Elephant Farm, Monkey Show, Snake Show, Golf, ATV and go-cart riding, Bungy Jumping, Paint Ball, and a few Gardens. "

"The location was beautiful, without doubt. Signs along the main road to the resort would have been appreciated. My party and I had to ask several different people (who spoke limited English) where Jirung was; we had started to doubt its existance! The young man who greeted us in reception was polite but inexperienced. I recall he was a trainee. We were taken into someone else's suite by accident, which would have been exceedingly upsetting if the occupant had been home at the time, before the young man found keys to another suite. The only real let down to our room - and probably all the other rooms too - was the awful kitchen and the hard mattresses. The kitchen was unpleasant and unattractive. The balcony, however, was particularly beautiful, as were the views over the lake and to the mountains surrounding. Were it not for the hard beds I would most certainly return to Jirung again."

"Very nice hotel, the surrounding is beautiful, but the management must improve, especially staff training. Most of staff are poor in English so that cause many communication problem! "
