Would I stay at this location
again:

Absolutely!
What was there not to like is where I would start as this place sets the standard for all the accommodation we stayed at throughout Vietnam and Thailand. After a long hard think all I can come up with is, the Pool was slippery at the edges and more shade was needed. The rooms were big and spacious with a full size fridge, frypan, toaster and all required to live out of this suite. Because the local cuisine was so good we did not use what was available. Breakfasts were a feast and if the zillion choices there was not good enough you could just ask and it would be produced. Staff were absolutely fabulous in every respect. To top it off there was a business centre where you could get coffee, tea and fruit juice with light snacks of pastries, sandwiches and cakes roughly 9 am to 10 PM all free with your wireless Internet. This place just was just so good.

"Kantary Hills although slightly out of town is a fantastic hotel which should be in the Luxury bracket. Hotel areas have a feeling of relaxation. The pool are was good, pool warm and great size. The steam room and sauna were an excellent way to relax and the gym was well stocked.I will definately use this hotel again"

"Very modern, nice hotel with a big swimmingpool to relax after doing all the sightseeing. Rooms are spacious, very clean with all the amenities you expect. Breakfast is also available with a good choice. Will go there again, even if it is not in the very center of Chiang Mai, but in the trendy west end area. Taxi or TukTuk to Nightbazar should not cost more than 80 baht."

"Very good reasonably priced hotel. Great restaurant and very cheap. Lovely swimming pool and all the staff very helpful and courteous. I would certainly stay here again."

"The staff all gave my husband and I a very wellcome smile and service. However we requested a non-smoking room, they were unable to provide to us due to fully occupied, since they only have 1 floor for non-smoking. This is the area I think they should look into it. The first room we had was smelling like an ashtray, to me it was really unacceptable. I booked the room in May yet, they were unable to reserve for me. When I check out, the staff told me that I have made a local call in the room and needed to pay, but I was sure I never did, so later they told me due to one time I requested the front desk to call a local restuarnt for reservation, that needed to be charge, which I found it very odd, as I was not informed that it was a pay service. I also found the bed very uncomfortable, they need to have better pest control in the rooms. Even on the third night they were able to put us in a non-smoking room the room was still smell unpresent, the hotel could do better in this area. We were really pleased with the swimming pool and gymroom, as well as the hotel location, so until we find a better hotel in the area, otherwise we will still go back to Kantary, really hope it will improve on the weaker part. "My wife & I recently stayed at the Kantary Hills for 6 nights & it was a wonderful experience. We have travelled extensively throughout SE Asia & I can say without fear of contradiction that the Kantary Hills Chiang Mai is the best 5 star accommodation we have experienced to date. We reserved a deluxe 1 bedroom suite which consisted of a separate bedroom, living / kitchen area, bathroom & toilet. The overall size of the suite was very large by asian standards & facilities the most modern & funtional available. Facilities included a full size refrigerator, microwave oven, cooktop, crockery / cutlery, dining table etc., a 32" LCD flat screen TV & full size lounge setting in the living area. The bedroom had a king size ++ bed, built in robes, separate TV, each room fitted with split system reverse cycle airconditioning. Room service is outstanding both in variety & cost, it is without a doubt the most inexpensive eating place, (of quality), we have experienced in a 5 star hotel. The buffet breakfast was great & varied each day, staff friendly & helpful. The Kantary was opened in December of 2007 so everything is new & spotlessly clean. I could not speak more highly of the Kantary & would strongly recommend same to anyone looking to be accommodated in Chiang Mai. I would also recommend ASIA ROOMS as a booking agent, their services could not be faulted ! Bob Algate"
