| "Great value for the money. My girlfriends and I were traveling throughout Thailand and wanted a clean place in a good location but also wanted to stick to a budget. We were very pleased with Red Hibiscus. It was a short tuk tuk ride to the night bazaar (it's about a 1/2 hour walk) and walking distance to all of the recommended wats in Chiang Mai (Chedi Luang, Chian Man, Phra Sing). That staff was very pleasant and helpful. We wanted to do elephant trekking and the hostess was able to provide several options as far as trekking companies. She also coordinated rides to the airport and we felt really taken care of. " |

| "Very low-key relaxed atmosphere, with friendly and accomodating staff. Our only issue was that the shower was not hot (just warm), which makes a difference in the cooler months. " |

| "The Red Hibiscus was more than I expected. The facility was very clean and the room ample to meet my needs. The facility was quiet, cleaning staff friendly, and front desk good. I was sorry I could not extend my stay because they were booked. Most of the rooms are on the upper two floors and there is no lift. While I am a spry senior woman travelling alone, that might be a consideration in the distant future. Breakfast is extra but reasonable. Good hot water and bath facility. The facility is on the far end of town from day and night markets, but an easy Tuk Tuk ride. I would recommended the facility and have done so." |

| "Nice place. Satellite TV for a slow day. Clean. Quiet. The singular drawback (or advantage?) was that it is located in the Northwest corner of the old town, which is not quite opposite the main tourist zones in the old city (central old town area to the center of the east side of the old city are seemingly where most tourists and tourist services are). Twenty minute walk to opposite side where tourists, shopping, and a wider selection of restaurants tends to begin. Feels a bit isolated in a residential neighborhood. Advantage or disadvantage? Your call. Nice place if you don't mind (or prefer) a little isolation from the tourist crowds. " |

| "The main quality of the Red Hibiscus is the impressive kindness and efficiency of the staff who runs this guesthouse. They gave us spot-on advice and were always listening to our concerns.
We had a major problem when arriving, the air-conditioning wasn't working properly the air wasn't cool or cold), but we reported it and the day after it was fixed !
The Red Hibiscus is located quite far from the main attractions (Night Bazaar etc.) but it's a quick journey in tuk-tuk. However you got to be aware of that as it's a bit too far to go there by foot everyday in the morning and in the night.
We found the upstairs room to be a bit noisy because of the main road. The bathroom was OK but we did not have always hot water.
Overall, it's a cheap place but you've got a quality service for this price." |
