| "the rooms at the royal panerai are ok.breakfast is a disaster. 12 thai dishes and toast butter and jam if you do not like thai breakfast.
we tried to get american breakfast at the royal peninsula, but that was just as miserable.
staff are not interested in guests.
if you have breakfast, insist on eggs, fried, boiled or scrambled. they will pretend not to understand you, but when you persevere they will make it.
one morning i said i would go into the kitchen and make it myself and that got results.
the breakfast room is a depressing sight with dirty linen and broken tables.the restaurant advertises to be open from 6am to 10pm but closes at 10am(AM) and that's it, but you would not want to have dinner there anyway.enjoy the cheap, reasonable room and eat anywhere else." |

| "The main concern about the hotel is they only serve Thai food for breakfast. There is no cerial, eggs, bacon ETC.
There was no internet service. There is no swimming pool.
The tarrif was most reasonable and the staff were very polite and professional. I would prefer the hotel to be better located nearer to the main market and shops and for this reason I will not stay again.

| "clean and comfortable room, value for money,
breakfast very limited selection, hotel should consider wider selection for those who are prepared to pay more for breakfast.

| "There was a total lack of breakfast provision for Western taste.
It was outside the Old City walls so the position did not help.
The staff were helpful and pleasant." |

| "The hotel is located just outside of the City walls, and is well set back from a fairly busy road. Which means that there is very little noise.
The rooms are a good size with tiled floors. The bathroom is also a decent size, with a large shower cubicle, which has it's own "well" area. This means that the water stays in the cubicle area, rather than "flooding" the rest of the bathroom.
However I feel that a lack of attention to detail, reduced the quality of the room.
For instance the PVC shower curtain had a couple of tears in it, the bathroom tap was loose, and had not been secured very well, if at all. Daylight could also be seen through the edge of one of the panels in the door.
Breakfast was mainly Asian style, although toast and jam was also available. However I did notice that at 9:30am, there were only 2 other people participating in breakfast.
It should also be pointed, out that the room door does not automatically lock, when closed from outside. The button on the inside of the door handle, needs to be depressed before the door is closed.
There is a charge of 100 Baht to return guests to the airport, add that to the 120 Baht it costs to get to hotel, and you have a fairly steep premium to pay on top of your accommmodation costs.
A lot of the Guesthouses in Chang Mai, offer a free collect and return service from the airport or train station. A lot of them are also in a more central location, and possibly offer compatable standards of accommodation, to the Royal Panerai. Therefore it may be worth doing some research on the various options available, before deciding on weather the Royal Panerai suits your requirements. " |

| "For the price paid, the hotel is value for money. But the location is a bit out of the way if you want to explore the city on foot." |
