We stayed in the Andaman Lanta Resort end of August.
I do not know if it is always like this or just because it was low season, but I would like to inform everyone about the following things:
Reception: the whole family is sitting at the reception, including babies, the playpen and so on, the guy at the reception was not very interested in our needs. After 6pm there was no one picking up the phone, and during the day the reception was not connection the calls. Family and friends who called from germany could not reach us at all.
We rented two scooters from the resort, one of them got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere, we had to organize a pick up and bring it for repair ourselves.
And who ever has been on Lanta knows that only few people are speaking English.
After coming back to the resort we showed them the receipt, which was not to high, only 150 bahts, but they even did not apologise for inconveniences. We did not insist on getting the money back, but I was really disappointed when I wanted to use the Internet and the guy wanted to charge 3baht per min, although we did not complain about the scooter.
Breakfast:
The breakfast has been a big disappointment. We only got toasts, butter, jam, eggs, fruits and tea or coffee. There was no menu, so even if you wanted to pay for extras there was no possibility to get some other food.
Lunch/dinner:
We have been told that the resort is not offering lunch or dinner due to low season. Wonderful. So if you are hungry during the day you have to go to some other place to have a snack or something. They did not even serve coffee or tea or juices.
Pool:
The pool has not been cleaned and maintained properly and the jacuzzi was not working at all. The jacuzzi has been covered all the time.
Beach:
The Andaman Lanta is one of very few resorts with huge stones on the beach, you can not go for swimming there, but it is not so bad because some 100m to the left or right there are no stones anymore. Unfortunately the beach has been so dirty, I have been told that they are cleaning it just right before high season. Also we have seen, when once going for dinner to another place, that they are buring all plastics and everything on the beach, it stinks terribly.
Rooms:
The rooms have been very nice, and clean, the bedclothes have been changed every single day, we got towels arranged on or beds nicely. The mini bar was full of beverages which were not too expensive.
Maybe it is different if you are going during peak season, that I do not know, I would just recommend the hotel only for high season.

| "Quite small hotel in a good place by the Klong dao beach. Pool area is very nice with a children´s pool and sea view.
Basic breakfast, nothing special. Unfortunately the room was quite a dissapointment! Old furniture, door was hard to lock, no safety box in the room, no good space for a baby cot or an extra bed, air condition stopped working many times during the night and the bathroom was a disaster.
Not good value for the price, there are many cleaner hotels in the same beach for better value. We were supposed to stay in Andaman Lanta resort for a week but changed hotel after two nights.

| "Stayed there for 2 nites for 2 chalets. We manage to get the adjorning unit which is good. Both rooms are by the sea which we like it very much... however the service provided is so so.. no water kettle and each time we needed hot water we need to call them to bring over. As there are 6 of us obviously 2 small pots will not be enough for us. We cant get hot water after 10p.m. as the kitchen is closed and guess what.. they ask us to walk to 7 11 to get hot water. We bought 2 small pots and only manage to cook 3 packet of maggiemee... We ask for adapter and they told us to wait which we waited for 30 minutes and when we call again.. they told us that they do not have it.
As for location.. it's beginning of the beach so if you could like to see excitment you need to walk a distance..." |

| "Wir hatten einen Standard Raum - es war o.k., das Badezimmer war sehr einfach, aber sauber. Wer nicht zu hohe Ansprüche hat, kommt damit klar. Personal war freundlich. " |

| "Our 2nd stay at Andaman Lanta in a SUP.room with seaview. With 3 beds there is not a lot of space in the room but it is nice and clean. Lots of children around which is nice when you travel with kids yourself.Wonderful natural beach without umbrellas hiding the view.
We found the service at the hotel better than last year - maybe the staff was trained better in the mean time?
Good massage right next to the beach.Restaurant OK but we preferred to go with the scooter-taxi into town (40-50 Baht) and use the fish restarants there (better price)." |
