| "Found Lanta Castaway via friend. From initial contact to departure, we were spoiled rotten by Darin (U.S.) and Nit (Thai) with the location (Long Beach/great sunset view), facilities (modern and nearly new), food (including real Tex-Mex), staff (all friendly and supportive), services (especially the massage), and a SUPER low season price. Koh Lanta is neither overbuilt nor overrun and it seems the island is striving to maintain a balance in favor of its visitors. We easily toured the entire island by hotel motorcycle and enjoyed other dining opportunities on the east side as well. First trip to Koh Lanta but hope to get back again soon. We've already recommended it to some folks we met who were interested in visiting Koh Lanta. Keep up the good work." |

| "March 2008. We have just returned from Thailand where we stayed at the Lanta Castaway. We had previously booked into other accommodation which we arranged when we got off the ferry. The place was dirty and the saying 'you only get what you paid for' is true. Although the Lanta Castaway was more expensive it was worth every baht! The people were so friendly and the owners were lovely. The massage is highly recommended! Originally we only intended to stay for one night but we stayed for a further 3 nights as we liked the place so much. Well worth the money" |

| "We stayed at Castaway for 2 wks in Feb. The location, food, resort & service was excellent! Good value for your money! The rooms were new, kept very clean & mins from the beach! There is a bar located right on the beach along with Thai massages also recommended on property. Darren (American) and Nit (Thai) the owners, were exceptionally accomodating! The food was a mix of Thai, Tex Mex and Western, all very good!
Thanks for a great holdiday!" |

| "We stayed at Castaway Resort located on Long Beach for 2 wks in Feb. The resort was clean, staff friendly and food very good. The bungalows are new & close to beach, 2 or 3 are ocean view. They also offer 3 simple, but clean Thai huts. The resort is owned by a very nice and friendly couple, an American named Darren and his Thai wife Nit. The food offered besides Thai, is Western and Tex Mex which was all delicious! They also have an internet room, beach bar and offer Thai massages which are a must! Best massage I've ever had!" |

| "Brilliant. Brand new bungalows. Clean, spacious and tastefully fitted out. High quality meals including Thai and Tex/mex from restaurant at reasonable prices. Beach bar, internet room and many other details to make a perfect stay. Friendly, helpful staff and efficently run by American/Thai couple proprieters. Also more traditional wood/thatched bungalows without aircon available for the lower budget. No pool but who needs it - great beach and local diving school. Koh Lanta is a dream and I would definitely come back to the Castaway." |

| "Just returned from Thailand and very much enjoyed my holiday (again).
This was my 3rd trip to Thailand and my 2nd to Koh Lanta. Koh Lanta is a beautiful island and a nice getaway from the crazy areas of Phuket etc... It was nice to see it develop so well (but not overdeveloped like many other islands).
I found Lanta Castaway Resort on this trip (brand new bungalow resort) located on Long Beach. The bungalows were really well done, roomy, and comfortable. The staff was very attentive, polite, and provided a great atmosphere.
In comparison to many of the other resorts, Lanta Castaway did it right. The bungalows are comfortable, clean, well kept, air conditioned (a couple are not air conditioned for those that prefer to be even more prudent with their currency), and completely sealed (important if you want to keep the "outside" outside). The facilities (internet, laundry service, restaurant, bar) were as good or better (restaurant and bar were definately tops) than any other place on the island.
In short, real luxury at a bargain rate.
The restaurant provided something that I hadn't found very often while island hopping, very good american type food to compliment the Thai culinary choices. The owner (very friendly and accommodating guy made everyone feel at home) was expanding the menu to include american Tex-Mex (Mexican food Texas style) and barbeque....everything was very delicious.
The beach bar has great atmosphere with unusual and comfortable furniture for lounging about and provides the perfect spot to watch the incredible sunsets. Don't miss the margaritas!
I'll be back to visit every year!
