Chaweng Cove Resotel, Koh Samui Island

"Excellent value for money. Room was spacious, bright and clean. Facilities were boutique but included small gym, great pool, library, broadband internet, massage on beach or indoors, beautiful beach just at front of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again."

"Chaweng Cove Resotel was a good mid-range hotel in my opinion. If you are looking for a cozy remote resort, this is not the right hotel for you. The beach location is quite nice and the pool facilities are nice. It is on the main strip at Chaweng Beach, so its proximity to dining and shopping is great! The service wasn't top notch, that is definitely the downfall. We had rented two scooters from the resort and on return the front desk staff said that they gave them to us both full, which was untrue and wanted us to fill them up- they didn't appear to listen when we stated that they were not full...no flexibility on their part. On the room side of things, the room was ok- not the greatest room, but not the worst either. The beds are very hard, and thus not very comfortable, but they were clean. We had vacationed with another couple, so it was fine for us as a home base- we spent most of our time on the beach and exploring the island..... If you are looking for quiet and remote though, I would not recommend it. "

"We went to Thailand for our honeymoon and we pleasantly suprised at the service by most of the hotels, not this one. Upon the taxi pulling up to the hotel we were worried. The front looks like a shack, the reception was unorganized and uninviting. We had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready. We had ordered a delux mountain view room and we horribly dissappointed. The room was right on the front of the bussiest street in Samui and it was insainly loud all day and all night. The room itself was basic, not dirty but not comfortable. There were bungalows offered by the hotel that we saw as we walked by them to the beach (they do have direct beach access and that's about their only strong point) but I beleive that only 2 of the bungalows are actually ON the beach. The breakfast was ok and the best part of it was that you ate in on their restaurant that looked out onto the beach. The hotel staff was not very pleasant at all and out of the 12 or so that I think we worked with most didn't speak english well enough to give us what we were asking for. Lastly, we booked one tour recommended through the hotel for the day trip to The national Marine park islands. To make a very long and upsetting story short the tour company was horrible and cancelled the tour as we were on the boat in the middle of the ocean and took everyone back to their hotels to get their money back. Point is, I'd recommend booking your tours elsewhere. We won't be staying here again nor would I recommend anyone staying here ever for the price that they charge for the rooms and service that they provide."
