"We stayed at the Pavilion Queens Bay Hotel over the Christmas period and the room rate was very high, but then again, the rates at all the other hotels also shot up. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the beach and has a nice large swimming pool with lots of sun beds to relax on if you want to avoid getting sand inbetween your toes. The prices of the hotel food and drink was on the expensive side so eating out at the numerous restaurants on the way into town is an option. The buffet breakfast catered for western tastes - providing toast, eggs, bacon, sausages and waffles and there was also a noodle & rice option each morning. English was spoken by all the hotel staff, however the majority of guests were Scandanavian and from the notices in reception, they seem to be the main nationalities that the hotel caters for. Nice if you like blondes. The bathroom was enormous and so was the room which had a west facing balcony that provided some very nice sunsets. The bed was also nice & large and the TV had lots of channels to choose from, but only a few were in English. Conclusion: It's a decent hotel, but needs to either improve its standards of decor or reduce its prices to attract me back. "

"We were staying 2 weeks just after high season, and overall we were very happy for our stay. Staff are very friendly, nice large rooms, the bed madras are to hard. Large morning buffet served on the the top floor with a very nice view over Ao Nang bay. The only negative are that the prices at the poolbar are to high and the hotel need some overall maintaince "

"The hotel is a bit old or it was not maintained properly. Bedroom and Balcony is nice, but restroom looks cheap and untidy. New hotels can be seen everywhere, immediate improvements need to be made to stay competitive. Breakfast is not impressive, I even have to serve coffee myself. Pool is fine, again pool towels are cheap and old. The SPA is probably my ONLY recommendation at the hotel."

"It was Ok but it was a little out from the beach but I guess a good walk and only 20bht ride back up the hill if you caught the local. Ao Nang itself is very laid back and quiet and think you would have to do alot of sight seeing to pass the time. The beds at this hotel would have to be described as ROCK hard, so much so that I slept on the day bed. Breakfast was Ok. Next time if there is I would stay at the Ao Nang Villas right next to the beach."

"My fiancee and I have enjoyed ourselves very much at Pavilion Queens Bay. Right from the front desk, the receptionist was polite, explaining about the hotel and the room in details to us. The room was fantastic, we liked the bath room, the bed and of course, the balcony, especially the swing. Next to the facilities, we enjoyed our swim at the 3-tier swimming pool. We also had our 15 mins complimentary massage at the spa, thanks to the hotel. However, there is always room for improvements. It will be better if there are more lightening at the poolside and it will also be good if the pool can extend their operating hours to 10pm, instead of 8pm. Breakfast menu can be more exciting by having speciality of the week or some different countries' specialities. In general, our stay was great. We would defintely choose Pavilion Queens Bay for our next visit to Krabi."

Comments:

After spending a few days in a fantastic hotel in Bangkok we had high expectations of our hotel in Krabi and we were not disappointed. I had initially been quite concerned after reading some poor reviews on this hotel but I would certainly stay here again. The pool area was fantastic which was a real bonus as Ao Nang beach is not.Breakfast also was a real plus with plenty of choice. Location was good as the hotel is removed from the main hustle and bustle and I would reccomend the hotel travel agency for trips and taxis. We stayed here for 8 nights but actually spent one night at Phi Phi and I was never so glad to get back to a hotel as I was this one.
