"This is my second time staying in this hotel, good! Large room size, recommend the sea view deluxe, great view, and the location is very convenient, just a street distance from Big C, and the beach is just downstair waiting for you!"

"Overall, the Sandalay resort is a relatively good place to stay in Pattaya, mainly due to its superb location - it's a stone's throw from the beach and is right in the centre of things. It is somewhat a hotel of contrasts, though, as certain parts of the hotel seem to be significantly older, and therefore more drab, than others. The most noticeable contrast is between the *superb* open air restaurant that extends out from the front of the hotel onto the main beach road, providing a lovely view of the beach and the sea, and that of the hotel itself. The hotel is rather dated and could certainly do with being overhauled by whoever created the aforementioned 'Red Step' restaurant. Despite the rather bleak looking rooms, they are certainly value for money, especially when you consider the amount of space you are given. However, there are some rather bizarre furnishing, such as oddly oddly-sized shower curtains, a mish-mash of floor tiling throughout and a general lack of functionality. In addition, the balconies are strictly standing room only - unless you happen to have a baby chair with you, in which case you might just be able to sit down (as long as you are abnormally small). Everything about the service is very standard, certainly lacking any of the professionalism of a 5-star establishment, which is to be expected. Both my partner and I can speak Thai, so there were no communication problems and the staff seemed to be able to converse happily and accurately in English, so I wouldn't anticipate any significant problems in this respect. All in all, the hotel is just okay, although I must reiterate the fact that the restaurant is wonderful, with sumptuous food (Thai and Western), a plentiful and varied breakfast and well-balanced and creative cocktails (not to mention one or two 'house specials', which are worth the extra few baht. In conclusion, I most likely will not stay there again, but I'll definitely be eating in the restaurant next time I am in Pattaya! "

"I stayed 6 Jan 08 - 18 jan 08. ok good location and the breakfast was great ( Smoking still allowed at the table..No Way for breakfast) the room had a great view, thats were it finished. Value for money at approximatily 3600 Baht was not worth the money. The staff were really great and helpful. Had to go to local Hardware store to buy a Shower Head so could have a good Shower You understand "Creature Comforts". anyway not to bad but there are many places in Pattaya that can give better Value for your Money and very close to the same location. Comments:

Do not stay at this hotel as there are many better and cheaper hotels than this, after checking in to a unfriendly welcome i found the room small and old,the bathroom had mold on the walls as after having a shower with no hot water i found the shower curtain did not fit the shower so the water went everywhere,i had booked a sea view room which was a waste of extra money as the balcony was just about big enough for two people and i had to lean over the balcony railing to see Pattaya bay,the curtains of the windows also did not fit properly so at dawn the room was filled with daylight which is good if you want to get up at 5:30am but not so good if you want to lay in,after complaining to the manager nothing was done about the room problems, the swimming pool is very small and unwelcoming, the hotel is run down and in urgent need of a refurbishment and the food in the hotel restraurant expensive and after two days of six booked i just had to check out as it was just too depressing to stay there, the only plus is the location which is next to the beach, regards Kevin.
