"Our stay at the Novotel Panwa was a very pleasant one. The place was perfect and just what we wanted for our holiday - serene with a magnificent view of the sea. Service level was very good- both the french staff and the local ones. Just one teeny bit of comment for inprovement - there should be more staff attending to guests during breakfast, especially during high traffic hours which is between 9 - 10 am. Over-all, we enjoyed our vacation at the hotel immensely. "

"This is forth year returning to this excellent hotel, see you again next. Standards are what you expect from Novotel. Location is great for those who like quiet surrounding but beautiful outlook. My only dislike was paying 100baht for minibus into Phuket Town. Great relaxing holiday with good weekly entertainment from Hotel Staff. Keep it up !!!!!"

"We visited phuket w/ all women gang.. & loved the hotel location.. we can see the see from our room balcony & the view is amazing...Even the pool location & point is very good.. the only - point is the place is too far from other beaches specially the patong beach & not much activity or availabity arount the hotel area. But staff is very helpful & good. Spa facility is also good. Excelent place for people who prefer a space away in nature away from loud & noisey place. Also safe...we all love it.. my mom, aunt & my sisters "

"Hotel is 30 mins drive away from Phuket Town and Patong. Unless you have a car, I wouldn't suggest this hotel. The hotel is located far away from convenience stores, restaurants and other attractions - the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. The staff proficiency in english, compared to other hotels in Phuket, is below average.
They've made mistakes almost every morning when I ordered breakfast in my room (no eggs in my american breakfast, no cups for coffee, etc). The activities proposed by the Hotel are odd, for instance there was a napkin folding class; not what you'd expect from beachfront resort.
The beach strip is narrow and walking is not possible as there are too many debris. The plus side is that our room was 5 seconds walk from the beach and we could ear the waves in our room. The beach is beautiful at times, but swimming is not possible. If you're looking for a romantic place away from everything and you don't mind staying only at the hotel for the length of your stay, book it - but it's a gamble."

Comments: My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in February 2007 when many other beaches and locations were packed. The hotel itself is quite beatifully designed, with great lighting and atmosphere. The pool is one of the best parts, and we spent most of our time there, though there are not many beach chairs, so get them while you can. They also bring by free juices, fresh fruit and cool clothes on occassion, which is a nice plus. We stayed in a high room Seaview King Deluxe and it was great, just like the pictures. The bathroom doesn't have a tub, but it is well decorated and has a walk in shower. If you choose this room type, try to get a higher room if possible; you'll have to walk four flights of stairs but the view is worth it! The balcony even has a fan! Amazing views of the sunset especially! The breakfast is good and extensive, though coming earlier is better. The other food at the restaurant wasn't very good and very expensive. The sandwiches at the pool side bar are good though. Service was mostly good, though they didn't have our room ready when we arrived, one day they didn't do a good job of cleaning up the breakfast tables and they seemed often unable to help us with services "outside the box," for example making reservations at a restaurant in an other part of the island, or getting a number for a metered taxi to the airport. The worst part is the location. Good if you are willing to spend the money on the food there and transportation and like to be away from everything; bad if you want to enjoy some other activities. We rented a motor bike and used it for the day. It was well worth it! Though it still is a 20 min ride on back road and some busy street sections to get to Kata Beach. They have a shuttle to Patong and Phuket Town, but it is NOT free (but the charge is reasonable). The beach is also not very nice. While the view is great, we never sat on the beach and it was difficult to walk on it, and the water is not very clear in that part. We would stay at this hotel again if it were in a different location, but we probably won't for this one, main reason.
