"Our room offer a superb view to the sea & Patong beach. The bathroom is considered small for a resort. It's a 15min walk down the slope to the beginning of Patong city but i suggest to get a tuk tuk at 200Baht when returning. We enjoyed the buffett breakfast at the open air restaurant, loads of varieties. We felt the best kept secret of this resort is its private beach and jetty for its guests use only. Both are great for sun tanning. There's no need to join tour out to go for snorkling. We had saw so many colourful fishes swimming beside us at the end of the jetty. Do take note that there's alot of rock along the private beach during low tide. Finally, we don't recommend this resort to the aged and pensioner as there's plenty of stairs to walk around this resort."

"We stayed at the Amari for two nights and didn't want to leave. The location is spectacular with a private beach and jetty. The room was nicely appointed and the bathroom very modern. The food at the breakfast buffet was the best of all the hotels we stayed at in Thailand. We also ate at the onsite beachside Italian restaurant, La Gritta, and it was spectacular. One wouldn't expect to find first rate Italian food in Thailand, but this restaurant really delivers. Unlike the rest of Patong Beach, the restaurant is quiet and directly on the beach - perfect for a romantic dinner."

"Bathrooms are out dated. Shower nozzle old and basic, shower is in a bath with a plastic shower curtain. Bath is deep and narrow making it difficult to step in and out of. Bath could only fit one small person at most. La Gritta restaurant is excellent but a little expensive...however, very worthwhile!! There are a lot of stairs at the resort and a ramp to walk up and down to get to the Patong Beach Shops. Resort has great elevated views. Only 5-10 minute walk to Patong Beach shops or 200 baht tuk tuk ride from the lobby bar. Buffett breakfast was excellent - 5 star. Grounds well kept and tidy. Only two swimming pools in different areas, but the pools are a plain rectangle shape and I didn't think they were big enough for th amount of guests the resort can hold. Some days, even in low season, we were hard pressed to get a sunbed at the pool. The pools were somewhat boring and lacked the exotic character that most resort pools have in Thailand. TV and DVD supplied in room were good. King size bed was good, good quality manchester used. Ok place to stay if you want nice views, away from the business of Patong but close enough to get there on foot. Drinks, meals etc are overpriced in the resort. Go down the street and pay half!! "

"We stayed only 2 nights at this resort as a fitting "luxury" end to our 10 nights in Thailand. We got adjoining rooms with our "young adult" children which was great as neither of the other 2 places we'd stayed managed to fill this request. The staff were very obliging and allowed us to check in a couple of hours early as we were transferring from another resort at Patong Beach. This was certainly an upgrade from where we had been (Patong Resort). There was a can of insecticide in the cupboard to spray the room with at night.. an umbrella in the closet.. a DVD player in the room was much appreciated by the younger generation who were keen to try out their new CDs and DVDs from their shopping expeditions! The bathrooms were beautiful though small.. the shampoos etc of high quality.. The views lovely.. although we weren't right near the water we could see it above the roof of the rooms in front of us and it was very nice to look out at! Although there was a lift.. you still need to be able to climb stairs up and down to the breakfast area etc.. the disadvantage of being built up a hill.. but lovely for the views! Views from the lobby, the pools, and the resaurants were great!.. Lovely to have a couple of little private "beach areas" where is was possible to swim at high tide and no vendors to bother you!.. The Jetty was a great place to do some snorkling.. lots of fish to see! One downfall if you plan stayiing more than a couple of nights or like to sleep before 12.30... the band in the lobby plays from 10pm-12.30 each night and all but the "delux rooms" can probably hear it fairly clearly in the rooms!.. not a bad band mind you ... OK if you have a few drinks in the lobby at happy hour at 9.30pm (half price for all drinks!) and stay and listen to them! The downfall of all open-air restaurants/bars... in not only the increased noise ..another problem with this can be the mosquitos and the heat..don't forget the aeroguard! Great breakfast buffet.. views fantastic.. only problem is the lack of qir-conditioning making it a bit hot if you aren't near a fan/sea-breeze. On leaving we asked to weigh our bags.. but they only had inaccurate bathroom type scales.. luckily we weren't over when we got to the airport! We knew from other reviews that the walk to Patong Beach could take 20 minutes.. we walked both nights back to a cheap restaurant in the town.. took 25 minutes but an easy walk there... really not much of a hill on the way back if you're relatively fit and not carrying much!.. good exercise! Speaking of exercise.. they have quite a good fitness centre (and tennis courts if you're up to it.. but hire on the rackets).. you can even play a DVD/CD while you exercise (if you get in first!?). Overall a fantastic stay.. wouldn't mind another longer stay but would maybe be worth the extra dollars to get a deluxe room (in the 700's are the room numbers).. which look straight onto the water and are on the same level as the breakfast restaurant and far enough from the lobby noise. Wouldn't recommend to the unfit/pensioners due to the stairs/hill etc. "

"ALTHOUGH THE VIEW FROM THE ROOM WAS OVER THE BAY AND ALL ROOMS LOOK OVER THE BAY, THE ROOMS ARE SMALL AND QUAINT. BREAKFAST WAS FANTASTIC, GREAT FOOD. STAIRS TO AND FROM OUR ROOM WERE A KILLER ON THE THIGHS, GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE WHO IS NOT REAL FIT. LOCATION WAS GOOD. RESTAURANTS A LITTLE PRICEY. DOWN THE ROAD YOU COULD PAY LESS FOR THE SAME QUALITY AND QUANTITY. OVERALL NICE STAY BUT WILL NOT GO BACK, THINK ITS TOO $$$$ FOR WHAT YOU GET REALLY. OH! THERE IS AN ELEVATOR BUT IT WAS OUT OF ORDER.....!!!"
