"Banyan Tree is FANTASTIC. I love my pool. The Service 5 stars. Thanks "

"Overall our stay in Banyan Tree was very good. I arrived with food poisoning and received a complimentary bouquet of flowers which was very nice. The buggy service to the beach was also very nice and service was generally very good as you would expect from the Banyan Tree. We did however find our room could have been cleaner with cobwebs hanging from the walls and some of the outside lights did not work. They did attempt to repair the lights but failed and we did receive a very nice letter from management apologising for the inconvenience. What did shock us was after complaining about the cleanliness of our room we noticed two teaspoons had been smeared with god knows what which seemed to be a protests by the cleaners which we informally reported to management "

"For the vast sums of money involved, unfortunately the Banyan just doesn't get the little things right. I was so disappointed. The Lagoon Villa room was beautiful(equipped with expresso machine!) - but Lagoon view definitely not worth the extra. The buffet breakfast was truly fabulous (we got 2 included on our AsiaRooms booking even though it said it wasn't!) I am a big "hotel pool" person 9even though we had out own in the villa) and the main pool is not anything spectacular. The amin issue was the service, which was not of level expected. The hostess who escorted us on arrival demanded we dig around in our suitcase for leaving flight details whilst we stood locked outside our villa in the hot sun - because she had forgotten the key. Out room booked for 3 had 3 beds but only 2 of everything else - cups, towels, bathrobes etc. I rang the spa twice and both times the reception staff did not speak adequate english to understand requests like "What time is the yoga class?" We arranged for room service (which was lovely) to be collected from the pool at 11pm - the dishes were out there collecting bugs at 130am. I left a necklace of extreme sentimental value in my room. Despite ringing in tears immediately on my return to Australia, the staff who promised to "call me back within the hour" never did. (It took a effort on my part but I DID get it back). Maybe it is off season and all the good staff were on leave. I don't know, it was just so disappointing. There was no benefit regarding use of the spa by staying at hotel - guests at all the complex hotels qualified for the same discount card. My advice would be to stay at one of these more reasonably priced places and visit the Banyan spa."

"My husband and I would go back to this resort in a heart beat! Even though the weather was not great during our stay, the staff's excellent and courteous services made it very enjoyable and relaxing. The cottage we stayed in had all the amenities of a modern hotel but was rustic and quite charming. The spa was excellent also. Treatments are given in separate cottages, and we enjoyed the Asian style massages there. We had our tours and limos arranged by the hotel and everything went very smoothly. Highly recommendable."

"A fantastic location with wonderful service with so much to do in the resort. We went on our honeymoon and I would recommend it 100%. "

"Very beautiful hotel with great service and very friendly staff, and excellent facilities. Unfortunately, the garden that every villa has invites many cockroaches and the occasional rat near or into the villas. "

"The Banyan Tree was a lovely experience for a special occasion. We had difficulty moving far from the hotel because taxi firms were well aware that only fortunate people/high budget tourists can afford to stay there and therefore their fares were very expensive to transfer to Phuket town or anywhere in the peninsula. We received a complimentary upgrade and the villa (812) was fabulous. We could not fault its interior, however the jacuzzi did have a strange smell and there were some cracked tiles around the pool. All in all a wonderful experience and staff were always very helpful."

"Our stay was perfect with only one exception. The bar on the beach had been closed since our last visit. Apparently the beach bar will re-open in the future after resolving some political issues with local authorities. "

"The Banyan Tree is an absolutely stunning retreat and the spa pool villa's are out of this world! My tip, to save racking up an enormous bill, is to take the free shuttle bus outside the Laguna resort and eat in the excellent Thai restaurants for a fraction of the cost."

"I have been coming for years in the Banyan Tree Hotel it is absolutely the best by far all the family has a great time. "
