Would I stay at this location
again:

Absolutely!
Cape Panwa for us was a perfect start to our holiday. we wanted somewhere to unwind for a few days and this hotel certainly provided that. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and we had a great view of the sea. There was a great sofa style bed on the veranda which we used all the time when relaxing outside. The pools (one around the main hotel, the second in the gardens near the beach) made a nice change from the beach but the small beach provided somewhere to wander and stretch the legs.A tram is available to take you down to the beach front where there is both a beach bar and restaurant. The staff were most charming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We only ate breakfast in the hotel as this was included in our rate. it was more than adequate and provided a variety of choices for everyones tastes from continental to thai to english. the hotel is located in an isolated spot which was great for us as this met all our needs but if the guest has mobility problems then this may cause a few problems as the area is hilly. The hotel provides courtesy transport but this is like a truck rather than a bus,but it does provide you with transport to the little bay and plenty of laughs. there are several restaurants in the bay but we found sawasedee restaurant great value for money with plenty of both thai and western choices (this is the little bar exactly where the truck drops you off). we spent most of our late evenings around the lighthouse bar and made great use of the happy hour!and the live bands. overall we found this a lovely hotel and would certainly recommend this for future visitors.

5/5  Posted by MR. PELTIER, BERNARD, France in May 2009
"I stayed 6 nights last December (2008). It is better to have its pwn car (I got one) or motorbyke for it is far away from other places (PHUKET TOWN, KATA, KARON and so on). There is a nice free shuttle between CAPE PANWA and sister hotels opposite the hill (less than 1 mile but with a steep road). there are some restaurants on the hill (5 minutes walk). I got a bedroom which was just in front of the pub (LIGHT HOUSE) of the hotel and it was a little bit noisy (music) at night. I noticed the point the day after my check-in. I got immediatly a room change with a complimentary upgrade (bedroom with jacusi : junior suite). Breakfast are nice and staff was very pleasant. There is also soùme villas with 2 bedrooms. Beach is nice but not always suitable for swimming. Anyway this is a nice place."

"This is a nice hotel with private beach and lots of friendly staff. A bit out the way but that was why I chose it. In need of a room refurb especially the bathroom but overall a nice hotel and we enjoyed out stay."

"A very large hotel, anomyous and old. For a four star hotel we expectet much more. The rooms from the 80th and the bathromm style from the 70th. The beach and the gardenbeach is beautiful. You can reach it via hundrets of steps or a cablecar. The breakfast was ok. Most of the guests were from Britain and Russia. The service was professionel and friendly but not personally. And if you need help - pay for it. This hotel: Sorry, but never again."

"Nice hotel, private beach away from the crowd. Hotel also have buses go to major part of phuket, quite convenient. Breakfast is awesome."

"Elevated position somewhat worrying when you first arrive but proved to be no problem given the free and frequent shuttle bus and beach lift. Rooms standard sort of size, clean and with good facilities as is the hotel generally. Nice beach, although a bit rocky when the tide is out so limited swimming time. Option of shade under the trees when it is really hot. Food is of a good standard and initially seems a reasonable price until you add on the 10% service charge and VAT. Staff very friendly, relaxed and helpful, but not intrusive. Would definitely go there again. If you want a quiet spot to contrast with such as Patong beech it is ideal. "
