The hotel was very nice and the room was very spacious for deluxe room. The room was very clean and was cleaned twice a day.
The entrance and lobby area was great. The staff were very polite. Huge choice for breakfast.
The resort was very big and had a private beach.
There were lots of activities to do.
It's about 40 minutes from the busy Patong beach.
The food is expensive and the hotel taxi service is very expensive.
A round trip to Patong is about 3800 baht. One way Airport trip is 1800 baht and normal taxi charges 400 baht.
The resort is excellent but the taxi service is expensive and the hotel should have an option to have normal taxi other than E-class Mercedes Benz.
The overall stay was very good.
Also, try and avoid using credit cards as they charge 10% on top as handling fee.

| "We were looking forward to our 6 nights at the JW Marriott Phuket, after a busy 5 nights in Patong. We were aware that the location was remote and stocked up on drinks and nibbles before we left Patong. We were quite surprised by the high cost of tours from the Marriott, given that we had taken several from Patong at much lower cost. However we decided to pay up and go to Krabi for the day, which was most enjoyable, however no more special than our vastly less expensive tours taken from Patong. Someone is taking a very large cut and taking advantage of the remoteness of the resort.
Our only other gripe was that for 4 of our 6 days there was a very large group of predominantly male Australians from Optus Australia who virtually took over the resort and made our stay most uncomfortable. They monopolized the pools and their behaviour was substandard and at times made us ashamed to be Australian. Restaurants and bars were off limits to other quests at different times and given the lack of other places outside the resort to visit easily (and at considerable cost) seemed very unfair and unreasonable given that we had no idea that this would be occurring.
Even though it is a lovely resort we wont be returning after this experience.
Given the size of the resort we also found the food not up to scratch, plenty of it but just not that well cooked. The crepes at breakfast were crisp and crunchy, and much of the buffet food at the special spice buffet we attended were luke warm temperature wise.
The pools and public spaces are beautiful and mostly enjoyed our stay despite the grievences." |

| "Fantastic hotel/resort - rooms great, food out of this world, staff friendly and helpful, very quiet location. You'd pay $500 a night for this in Australia." |
