| "The hotel is about 5-7 mintues walk away from the southern end of Karon Beach. Having been in the low season the beach wasn't crowded at all. The locaiton is good if you are looking for a bit of a peace and quiet with a no frills hotel. The swimming pool is nice if not too deep.
It is run by a nice Thai family, working for the Swedish owner. They were really helpful and very friendly. Answered all our questions and even helped us catch the local bus to Phuket town! I recommend that experience even if you are a family. It's cheap and puts you in contact with the locals.
The family also directed us to a tour operator nearby as well as a restaurant around the corner. The tour operator was pretty friendly and her prices weren't out of line with anything we found on our own. The NanMoi restaurant we were referred to is about as cheap as one can find in Phuket, even if it's prices are "touris adjusted".
So we had a really good time staying at Karon Place. If we went back we'd probably stay at a different beach. But if you want something cheap in Karon this isn't a bad deal.
