Spent 4 days at the Karona Resort n loved it..wonderful location jus at the end of Karon beach, right outside is Kata town n Kata beach is a stone's throw away..both beaches are lovely but there're big waves at this time of the yr..nevertheless we had fun 'breaking' the waves! Upgraded FOC to a honeymoon deluxe which the oni difference was tt the bathtub was out in the rm w a view..appreciated the nice touch..breakfast however, was mediocre..rented a bike n scooted to Patong (20min) for seafood n shopping on both days..Patong was real crowded which we din reali like..so was glad we stayed at Karon..one note to tourists who intend to rent a bike: pls bring ur license along cos we were stopped by traffic police on our way back to karon n got fined 300baht for not having! Wonderful trip tho..whole stretch of massage joints at the back of the stadium n no lack of food! Just be prepared for stairs climbing.. ;)

| "It is a nice hotel with nice swimming pool. The restaurant serves good food! The beach is just opposite the main street. If you have a room with connecting door, it may be noisy. And that is in fact the only negative point we experienced. The hotel also offers some nice excursions. We took the one on the Juna Bahtra, a Thai Jonk, and visited James Bond Island. And if you are looking for a good cup of coffee, Starbucks is at only five minutes walking distance." |

| "We spent four nights at Karona Resort and Spa. Very clean rooms and hotel grounds, pleasent staff and great value for money. We were just looking for a cheap place to stay whilst in Thailand in order to have a weekend on the beach to escape the City of Singapore.
Karon itself was disapointing and very commercial, not like other places I have been in Thailand. Too much tourist stuff and Western menu's available which was a shame. The beach was also disapointing as you could not swim in the sea as there was a rip current and it was dangerous. However, this may have been the time of the year, but you should check this out if you are thinking of going.
Don't bother doing the boat trips out to the islands as you will be herded around like cattle with 30-40 other people and when you arrive at your locations there will be another 20-30 tourist boats. This again is not what Thailand was like a few years ago when you used to be able to get a fishermans boat by yourself and the islands were empty.

| "Checked-in & was suprised to get upgraded to deluxe room for free. Staying one day so didn't have time to use the pool. Room was big & clean. Need climb many stairs to get to the room if you don't mind. Overall a worthy stay if you like the quietness of karon beach." |
