| "My stay at the Malisa Villa Suites was perfect. My partner and I styaed in a Grand Pool Villa and were overwhelmed with it, from the cooked breakfast in the room to the swift housekeeping on the shortest departure from the villa. The staff should be commended for their politeness and attention to detail" |

| "This hotel is perfect for couples and families who want to be away from the crowds. We stayed in a villa. Marisa is tucked 5 mins away from Kata Beach, with all the facilities you need. We didn't mind spending our time in the hotel!
Likes:
- Huge room with private swimming pool and kitchen
- Large bed and TV
- free use of laptop and wireless internet for stay
- DVD player with free rental of DVDs from the library
- complimentary snacks from the fridge
- many shops and restaurants outside the hotel
- away from the crowds
- garden and nice decor
Dislikes:
- The food from room service is only average
- Some light construction noise from the neighbouring hotel during the day
- some taxi drivers can't find the hotel
- breakfast is served in the villa, which is nice, but the food is only average
- it's 5 mins from the beach if you mind that
- the rain will spill into the living room area due to the wind
Tip: book your island hopping trips in the shops outside of the hotel, it's way cheaper.. and remember to haggle when shopping!
Overall, it was an enjoyable stay, we loved coming back to the room and lazing in the pool. Good place to spend company with your loved ones. Will come back again!

| "The Malisa Villas in Phuket were amazing. We had the resort's private car pick us up at the airport which was very convienent. When we arrived at the resort and they had everything ready. The room was beautiful and very private. Having your own personal pool with lounging chairs was very relaxing and romantic. The breakfast was good and the location was only a 10 minute walk to Kata Beach but they also provide complimentary transportation to Kata as well. There are numerous restaurants and shopping in the area. They also provide you with a laptop with wireless hi-speed internet to use during your stay. The spa is reasonably priced and a great place to get a massage. Room service is very tasty and pretty reasonable as well. Overall I would recommend the Malisa Villas, and hope to return again someday! " |

| "Commuting cheaply from airport:
I'd like to recommend all travellers to turn right upon exit of the airport and walk to the meter taxi stand. It only costs 460 BT to travel to KATA beach against 650-700 BT touted by regular "fixed-price" taxis. I won't advise using Malisa's limo service because it costs 1200 BT per trip! For the price we paid (Grand Pool Villa for 4 nights), I thought transfers should be thrown in complimentary really. However the commuting experience was nonetheless hassle-free and we note that the driver didn't take any detours.
We really love our villa. It was superb! We were there during the rainy season (1st week July) but had pockets of beautiful sunshine in between some morning showers. Honestly, if one were to be there for romance, the weather shouldn't be of concern.
Facilities are a minimal here, then again the value-added is in the room. We could hire for free as many DVDs and watch them on our sleak plasma. In-villa breakfasts are a plus and you can order from the special breakfast menu too. Because we could easily get top quality, cheap Thai cuisine back home, we didn't fancy checking out any posh restaurants. Frozen food was bought at the 7-Eleven just outside and we cooked all our suppers.
Decor at their Sukkospa, however could be improved, abit too clinical and budget looking. There're plenty of 1-for-1 packages during low season. There's a Senses Spa when you turn left out of Malisa. we didn't try that but looked pretty decent, prices a tad cheaper so maybe that could be worth a go instead?
Malisa was opened in Jan 07. For its price, this is truly a gem. It's extremely quiet yet just across the beach.
The one and only thing that really bugged me was the staff who didn't seem to understand "DO NOT DISTURB" sign. They'd ring the bell regardless. Couples should be warned that there are no dead bolt locks on the inside, so housekeeping will walk into your villa! Don't be caught out.

| "We had a wonderful stay at the pool villa. The staff was polite and helpful. 3 of them brought us to the villa to explain all the features of the villa to us. We'd brought our own laptop but the wifi access was not working. The staff came to our villa but could not fix it. We ended up having to use a cable, but internet access was still available.
Privacy is not an issue, at least not in our villa. You have to be at a very specific part of the villa to be seen. The buffet breakfast was just ok, not great. There's a library and a gym, which we did not use.
The location is perfect as Kata beach is easily accessible. There are some shops and restaurants around the area to occupy you for a few hours of shopping, but still relatively quiet and not crazy like Patong Beach.
We were able to get a taxi to the airport for 800 Bahts, which is cheaper than normal." |
