Would I stay at this location
again:

Absolutely!
Myself and 6 mates had booked Poppa Palace through asia rooms before we left Aus for Phuket. We didnt really know what to expect but I can honestly say that was by far the best place we stayed during the two weeks we spent in Thailand. We were here for the first 4 days of our trip, and on arrival back to phuket before our flight home, we got the taxi to take us straight back to Poppa Palace The service was second to none. The ladies working at the front desk helped us find thai simcards, recharge our phones when we needed, let us use their own phones to make calls, and even booked accommodation on Koh Phi Phi for us! The rooms are spacious enough, we had a room of four men and a room of three, and it was fine. the rooms were made up spotless everyday despite the countless bottles of Chang we left around the room, and there was never a complaint from anyone. location is fantastic, close to everything, and i would definitely recommend this place to anyone thinking about staying here.

"For 32SGD per night per room, it is quite a steal for young couples. Not exactly for families with kids or old folks, because you have to walk a little into the back of a small lane to access the hotel. Location is ideal for budget travellers at the Patong area as you can walk to the beach in 7mins, and to Bang La Rd in approx 10mins. Just along the main road, walk about 7mins to the right, along with the traffic flow, you'll come across No.6 Restaurant, hard to miss this as you'll be able to spot loads of foreigners there for the food. The staff were helpful despite the little communication problem we were having (couldn't really understand them with the accent). Breakfast is very very forgettable though, although it is provided, I highly suggest that you save the stomach space and calories for any kind of food that is available outside. The tv has cable channels. The fridge provides us with 2 bottles of 1L mineral water (pls do not drink tap water!). Please take note not to practice eating the food from the fridge first and replenish later. They have sticky labels on their food and drink items belonging to the hotel. Just head out and you'll find 7-11 stores EVERYWHERE, like almost every 5min of walk. The toilet is really crampy, or maybe it was only my room's toilet, I am not able to access the sink if I open the toilet door, quite awkward. They also have a balcony with 2 plastic chairs, please note to keep your balcony door locked at all times because neighbours can simply climb over to your balcony easily. It was a pleasant surprise that we found a safebox in the cupboard. :) Overall, I would recommend this to all young couples who are on a tight budget. Hope this review has helped. :)"

"its a nice hotel.good location. good size room , big bed, nice furniture. minibar is really cheap as well. i paid AUD 34 a night(stayed 6 nights in September 2008) and it is a really good value. 4-5 mins walk away from the bangala road( pubs area), u should try the pubs Tiger(upstairs) and Hollywood. by the way thanks for the hotel's staff. they were very kind and helpful :) "

"A delightful little hotel right in the centre of town, tucked away from the traffic and noise. All the staff were charming, the room was large and clean, the bed was very comfortable and I had a balcony that overlooked the small but clean pool which, in my opinion, was much nicer than the beach. Breakfast was adequate if a little monotonous over an 11 day stay but who could complain for the price? Opposite the hotel were 2 hairdressers, a spa and a very clean and cheap family restaurant where I ate most evenings. Thanks to AsiaRooms for finding this gem of a hotel and offering it at an absolute bargain price. Poppa Palace was seen offered by wotif.com at twice the price during the same period. The hotel is also apparently double the price if booked from the airport. Other guests were green with envy when I told them what I paid. I will definitely stay here again."
