What a great place. Would recommend this hotel very highly. The staff are excellent , as is the hotel itself. We have been to Rayong 5 times now and enjoyed it just as much as we did the first time we visited. We have stayed in their Superior, Jnr Suite and Junior Beach Suite rooms. All were good and the only thing that makes them different is the size + Tea/Coffee making facilities in the jnr suites. I was a little disappointed with the balcony on the Jnr Suite, it was tiny! Pool is great and there is no fear of having to fight over sun loungers. The hotel ( in our experience) is used mainly as a convention centre by the locals. For anyone who dont know the Thai's, they spend a fortune on cosmetics to lighten the colour of their skin, so sunbathing is not their cup of tea. We have often sat around the pool all on our own ( just the 2 of us) and have had to buy a drink just so that the poor soul that has to man the pool bar for 8 hours each day feels like they have a purpose in life!

| "Hotel was very beautiful with nice surrounding garden area. Room was spacious with nice terrace overlooking the sea. Service also was good but a few things bothered us quite a bit. Prices were high at the restaurants, room didnīt have a safetybox but most of all on the day of departure we asked if we could check out 2 pm instead of 12 noon.....it was not possible even if the hotel honestly was occupied less than 50%. That really left us with a bad feeling even if the property itself had impressed us before that. We hope that hotelīs personel will be given some flexibility in cases like this. Iīm quite sure nobody cleaned our room before 2 pm anyway, so it was not really a big favour to ask specially whan hotel was half empty.

| "The location is very beautiful and amenities at the hotel are good (especially the pool). However, it was difficult to leave the hotel to go into the town because taxis are few and far between. The rooms could also do with an upgrade." |

| "Whilst living in Thailand we often went to Rayong Resort to use the restaurants and pool. It is an idylic hotel in an idylic setting. Our first ever stay however was a disappointment. The 'deluxe' room was buzzing with mosquitos when we checked in. Apart from the carpet, the furnishings were well worn and somewhat shabby. The main restaurant was closed but the bar food was ok. Although there were only a dozen or so guests we were all put on the same wing, same floor, our 'neighbour' was a loud Thai who seemed to use the bathroom every hour on the hour and turned on the TV full blast at 4.00 am.
I shall certainly return to the hotel but not to stay overnight

| "I have two complaints which I mentioned in the "satisfaction survey form" left in each room:
I find unusual and frankly outrageous to be asked to pay 100 baht per person to use what is pompously called an exercise room: there were only 3-4 devices there when I checked it out.
I wonder why they have to have grass cut on Sundays when the resort is full of people who might prefer to enjoy the premises without being bothered by the noise and the pollution caused by the grass-cutting tractor. Why not doing this during the week?
As often in Thailand, the convenience of the management takes precedence over the guests'comfort." |
