"Wonderful resort, I loved it! Everything was perfect, the service, the food (the best green mango salad I ate in Thailand), the sleeping room facing the sea, so that we could fall asleep to the sound of the waves, the small beach restaurant. Absolutely beautiful! Very intimate, a small resort, not for people wishing action and entertainment, but for people enjoying unspoilt nature and the private and secluded caracter of this wonderful little resort. "

"It's a bit of travelling, but it is so beautifull! Very nice staff. Realise that in low season there is not much you can do but read. "

"We had beach villa 1 for 4 nights costing 4500 baht. The bedroom area is large with a sofa and fridge. The open air bathroom had a small garden, which was very sweet. We were concerned about mosquitoes but never saw one. We had an excellent sea view across to the large rocks out in the bay. We received a pleasant welcome from the staff who were always very helpful. There are internet facilities for which they charged 3 baht a minute. The buffet breakfast (included) is quite good. There seafood salads were excellent. The evening meals were also very good (especially the prawn cakes)and they serve wine by the glass (not always easy to find in Thailand). There are limited places to eat on the island so the prices are higher than elsewhere on Thailand. There is no ATM or supermarket, so come prepared. We found limited provisions at Fantasy resort, at the other end of the beach, and Koh Hai Villa (which is a little nearer). Generally I found it a quiet place although there is some boat noise and the dogs are quite loud (especially at night)when something disturbs them. The only reason I wouldn't stay again is simply because, having seen the island, I would try something different nest time. There is a great walk over the island, through the jungle, to Paradise beach on the otherside. You have to go through Fantasy Resort, to the top right bungalow and the walk from there is about 30 minutes."

"The hotel is a great place to stay - there are wonderful views of the sea and the restaurant is very good. You can rent kajaks and snorcheling-equipment to enjoy the cristal-clear water. Only the beach in front of the hotel is not really for swimming as there are many dead corals and stones that can hurt your feet. Either you use bathing shoes or go to the end of the beach (about 600 mtrs.) where it's much better."

"Location is great, bungalows and hotel very nice. Service was poor, not unfriendly, but also not friendly. You pay 10% service charge on food and beverage, something, I have never understood ! Best was the sky open bathroom with plenty of space, but no electricity and no towel rak or something for a wet swimsuit to hang. The beach in front of the hotel was good. Overall the value for money could be better."

"Just back from 4 nights at Thapwarin and can't wait to return. The staff were fantastic: kind, professional, and generally spoke very good English for a budget resort on an unknown Island. Our Gardenview room was still extremely close to the beach (15-20 metres) and afforded nice sea views between a couple of the beachfront cottages. The rooms are simply furnished, with attached outdoor bathrom (no hot water, but no problem in this climate). The Thai food in the restaurant was very tasty, though made more mild for the predominantly non-Thai clientelle. The Western food they served was a bit hit and miss. The beach in front of the resort is white, and the water is clear unless a strong wind is whipping up small waves, but because of dead coral on the sea floor, it's recommendable to wear sandles when swimming to make walking easier. One can swimm about 150 metres off-shore with a snorkle set and see some coral (mostly colourless) and lots of bright tropical fish. Most of the guests were a sophisticated mix of European couples (straight and gay, late 20s to early 60s) and one or two families. My partner and I felt very comfortable staying there, so can recommend it to other same-sex couples. Thapwarin offers very good value for money in a relaxing, remote environment. there are rumours that there will soon be more development on the island, so go soon!"

"Fair hotel with a nice setting on the beach. Service in restaurang poo mainly  due to poor understanding of the english language. Big rats in the cottages and bungalows. "
