Penfield Park Model Railway

The Penfield Park Model Railway, Adelaide has a history. A group of enthusiastic live steam model makers in 1969 constituted the Penfield Model Engineers Society. This amusement park houses 120 metres of a HO HOn3 model railway track laid on a six by four cubic metres layout and radio operated power and sail boats cruise around a new 3,000 cubic meter boat pond. While there have been quarter scale speedway race cars that move around the newly built racetrack. But there has been a construction work going on in the roads recently. The renovation work has been completed to a stage that allows visitors to pay a visit in this park. Though a lot is left to be done, but the total credit in rebuilding the club goes to the volunteers. These volunteers have devoted a whole lot of their time in rebuilding this club and it's nice to see the model trains and boats back in action after a long time. Toy steam or diesel carted train rides and radio operated boats and racing car exhibits will ascertain that you have an enjoyable family afternoon at the Penfield Park Model Railway. The Penfield Park Model Railway is open on the last Sunday of every month from 12pm to 4.30pm with the exception of December. You get a number of facilities in this park like ample car parking area, public toilet, sheltered area, first aid equipment, kiosk and many others. There is also a picnic area where you can come with your friends and family for a day out.
