Wittunga Botanic Garden is one of the most celebrated parks and gardens of Adelaide. This popular garden is situated on Shepherds Hill Road in Blackwood. Wittunga Garden was established in the 1901 by Mr. Edwin Ashby. The extremely beautiful garden is taken care of by the Botanic Gardens of Adelaide. It was opened for public viewing in the year 1975.

Wittunga Botanic Garden in Adelaide generally displays plants from Australia and South Africa. The garden has also a rich collection of Erica, Leucadendron, eucalypts and Protea. Most of the South African plants in the garden belong to Cape Province district. This province has a climate similar to that of Adelaide. The collections of Australian plants mainly come from the Fleurieu Peninsula Kangaroo Island, southern Western. Twisty paths through the Terrace and Sand Plain Gardens give the opportunity to the visitors to see some of the rich and colorful collections of the garden. Moreover, the visitors can also find some beautiful birds chirping all across the garden. These birds can be seen sucking nectar from the flowers of the garden. Some of the other collections of the garden includes, Eucalyptus, Melaleuca, Leptospermum, Callistemon Kunzea Banksia, Grevillea, Hakea, Leucadendron, Leucospermum and Protea, Erica, southern Western Australian wildflowers like heath land and many other exotic plants and shrubs.

Wittunga Botanic Garden in Adelaide is also popular among the locals and visitors for its shady lawns and lake side sitting arrangement for its visitors. This area has gained popularity as one of the most favorite spot for family gatherings and picnics. This garden is also visited by the couples frequently.

Opening hours:
- The garden remains open for its visitors on all weekdays from 8am to 4pm in the evening
- On Weekends and public holidays the garden remains open from 10am to 5pm. Cark parking facilities is also provided by the garden authorities.
