Better World Art, Adelaide is an award-winning museum was originally known as B W Trading. In the year 1996 this company went into a joint venture with Kaltijiti Arts Center in Australia and Better World Arts was thus born. B W Trading used to import handicraft items from Kashmir. The director of Better World Arts, Carolyn Wilson decided to combine the aboriginal art works with those of the Himalayan region. Thus, a cross-cultural project was developed which combined the fine art and handicrafts of Kashmir with those of the Australian aboriginals, thereby leading to the birth of the a unique form of handicraft.
You can come to the Better World Arts museum in Adelaide and take a look at the huge collection of rugs, mats, cushions, shawls, paintings, cards, bags, jewellery, coasters and paper mache items. You can also check out the wide collection of "punu" or decorative wooden articles. The hand made rugs with their floral patterns, geometric shapes and earth colors are simply marvelous. You can pay a visit to the painting gallery over here and take a look at the abstract paintings or those bearing pictures of plants, animals and humans. One of the biggest attractions of the museum is its jewellery section. The jewellery found here are designed by jewelers of Peru. You can take a look at the ceramic and nickel brooch or go for the silver earrings. Apart from these, you can also take a look at the paper mache boxes or go for the beautiful cushions displayed in Better World Arts, Adelaide.
Better World Arts, Adelaide is open from Mondays to Fridays. Visiting hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can come over here not only to see the attractive displays, but to buy the handicraft items also. The articles are reasonably priced over here and hence not hard on the pocket.
Better World Arts, Adelaide is thus one of the best museums and art galleries of Adelaide and hence a popular tourist attraction of the city.
