Fort Glanville was opened for the tourist in the year 1980 after the declaration of it's as a National Heritage Site in 1978. This Fort has retained the essence of the past and is one of the few heritage sites which are in its original conditions. You can also see original guns that had been used, in this fort. There are five fireable cannons. The volunteers of the Historical Association act out on open days the scenario of 1880's military life with cannon and rifle firings and parade ground drill. You will find guided tours of the site and the adjoining buildings. The visitor's center here houses a museum, souvenir shop and refreshment area. Besides a number of other facilities like coach parking, Interpretive Centre, assistance for the disabled, parking for the disabled, toilet facilities for the disabled, barbecue facilities and many others, are extended to the visitors.
