Ever since The Central Australian Show Society organized the Alice Springs Show for the first time in 1960, it has been a source of great entertainment for all the family. People of all ages wait eagerly for this Alice Springs festival and join in the celebration with full fervor. Originally the Alice Springs Show was organized to adhere to the tradition followed in all major rural centres around Australia to celebrate the spring time and bounty of nature endowed on people at that time. Thus it used to be based on agricultural produce, livestock and craft, however, with the passage of time and to cater to the needs of the modern times, the show now encompasses business displays, competitions, photographic, cooking and other contests, and of course the inevitable sideshow alley which delights all children and families. The Alice Springs Show is always held on the first Friday and Saturday of July and the festivities reach a spectacular culmination with mesmerizing fireworks display. There is an entry fee applicable for the festival. The per day entry cost to the Alice Springs Show is AUD10.00 per adult with child, family and concession rates available. Children below the age of four can enter without a ticket and two-day passes for the show are also available. Enjoy this annual agricultural and horticultural show that features a Grand Parade, sideshow alley, arts, crafts and plenty more and carry back memories of a lifetime from your trip to Alice Springs.
