Anzac Hill
Anzac Hill with the monument on the top of the hill simply presents a brilliant
view of Alice Springs and environs which afford magnificent 360° scenery.
Adelaide House
It was the location of the first field radio telegram transmission in Australia.
Built by John Flynn, today Adelaide House has an appealing pictorial display
of the previous history of the Centre.
Flynn Memorial Church
This is a church built to the memory of the late John Flynn who established
the Flying Doctor Service.
John Flynn's Grave
Located 5 km west of Alice Springs, John Flynn's grave is on Larapinta Drive.
Flynn is one of outback Australia's most loved characters. The lines on his
gravestone read as 'His vision encompassed the continent'.
Old Stuart Gaol
The oldest building on Parsons Street in the Alice is the Old Stuart Gaol. Built
in 1909, it stands as a monument to the difficulties which had taken place in
the early days in Alice Springs.
Hartley Street School
Have a rare insight into the architectural problems of the Centre in the old
Hartley Street School, now the home for the local branch of the National Trust.
Old Pioneer Cemetery
In the Old Pioneer Cemetery there is a spectacular gravestone depicting a wrinkled
old miner panning for gold.
Pitchi Richi Sanctuary
Pitchi Richi Sanctuary lies to the south of the town beyond Heavitree Gap. It
was designed by Leo Corbett to give the fauna of the area a sanctuary and to
gather the apparatus which had been used in the nineteenth century.
