Located in the New South Wales of Australia, the Snowy Mountain range is a part of the Australian Alps and the Great Dividing Range.
Accessibility
Though all days of the year are a nice tine to visit the place but to experience a first hand experience summer is the best. There is a local airport in the town of Cooma from where the snowies are easily accessible. There are regular flights from Sydney and Melbourne. If you fee like coming by trains then there is the countrylink train that runs between Sydney and Canberra. However, if you wish to go the Snowy Mountains by cars then make sure that you have tyre- chains as the roads are slippery enough.

The Snowy Mountains that towers to a great height is the highest mountain range of Australia. The range included the 2228 metered Mount Kosciuszko , the highest peak of mainland Australia.
Tourist attractions
The Kosciusko National Park , covering an area of 70,000 hectares is a main attraction for tourists. The outstanding scenery of the park flanked by River Murray and the innumerable glacial lakes is what attracts the tourists the most. The snowfields of the area include Perisher Valley, Blue Cow, and Guthega.
The Snowy Mountains also houses the Eden Killer Whale Museum and the Family History Center. The Eden Killer Whale Museum is of the two museums that houses a complete skeleton of the killer whale. To have a taste of fresh strawberries and cherries visit the Cherrygrove Orchard where win tasting, BBQ facilities are also available.
During the December and January there is the Windellama Small Farm Field Day and the Taralga Australia Day Rodeo respectively.

The snowies offers innumerable spectacular sights of the picturesque landscape that it is blessed with. The place is a major skiing and grazing ground.
