The Brisbane Museum, Brisbane is situated on the on the basement and the ground floor of the Brisbane City Hall. It was opened in the year 2005. The Brisbane Museum is so designed that it has the galleries on both the sides of the entrance to the Brisbane City Hall from the King George Square. The museum is a celebration of the socio historic heritage of the Australians along with the people, contemporary culture and the traditions of the people of Brisbane. The exhibitions that are held reflect this focus and they are changed on a regular basis. Admission to the Brisbane Museum: There is no entry fee for this museum. The hours: The museum is open daily from 10am to 5 pm. On Anzac Day it opens from 1 pm and it remains closed on New Year's Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday. The exhibitions There are innumerable exhibitions held in the Museum of Brisbane and each deal with special topics and are very illustrative. The major exhibitions that have been held so far are - - The series of photographs that document those venerable Australians who have received the Churchill Fellowship Award.
- The other exhibition was a display of a collection of the buildings throughout the history of the city.
- Miss Australia: A Nation's Quest- this is a very important traveling exhibition and it is said to have been the most popular and the longest running charity event in the history of the land. It had begun humbly in the year 1908 and had continued till 2000.
- A Man's World- this exhibition dealt with the viewpoint of a man and what he thought about the different aspects of beauty, childhood, cultural identity, memory, rock music, violence, humor, cars, sex and their fathers.
- Shakespeare in Brisbane- this was an extremely interesting exhibition that dealt with the snap shots of the master playwright's life and also how the people of Brisbane reacted to his plays.
- Eat, Drink and be Merry: Ceramics from the Collection: this exhibited interesting ceramic pieces from the City's Collection that were related to how food and drinks were served and presented.
