The Victoria Barracks Museum, Brisbane unravels a lot about Queensland's colonial days. The building was built around 1864 and is used at present as a Tri Service institution. It is therefore that the general public cannot access the museum during the working days. The Museum is controlled both by the Army History Unit and the Queensland Military Heritage Foundation. It is an official Army sponsored museum. The original barracks consisted of nothing but barrack blocks, a kitchen a guard's room and office quarters. The soldiers' hospital, the superintendent's house and the police stables were later added to the structure.
